Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honkerís Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honkerís Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one youíll look forward to time and again.

on draft: amber to red haze with a small tan head. immediate nose of cascade hops....mouth of the same with a slight crystal malt backbone. easy to drink and pretty good. no oustsanding flavors all slight and quiet. my bud friends could even handle it. must be pretty middle of the road if they can stomach it. needs a little push to make it worth talking about.

Pours copper with a small short lasted white head. Mild citrus hop aroma, with biscuity toffee malts behind it. Medium-thin feel, a little watery. Rather bland in flavour. Sweet start, bland sweet finish. Not much hop flavour either. Boring!

This should be classified as a mild ale, and a "very" at that. Itís understandably all over this (Chicago) area, and could probably be called their flagship brew for its sales. Unfortunately, thatís also because they tamed the ale down in order to appeal to the predominance of pale lager drinkers in the area. A nice, mildy hopped citric aroma, but too dull of a taste with no excitement in the finish. A new sports bar drink.

Amber color with long lasting medium white head. Spicy on the nose, canít place the spice at this time. Nice blend of hops and malt flavors.

12oz bottle BBD 013005 Amber hued, faint head. Malty, bready nose, hint of spicy hops. Biscuity, nutty malts dominate the light-bodied brew. Vanishes in the finish. Hops are subtle, too much so. An OK, but largely empty beer, more akin to a brown ale than an APA.

This one is ok as a session type brew, but hops are a litte too subdued for a APA IMO. Decent brew, and worth a try nonetheless.Just donít expect 3 floyds alpha pale ale,or SNPA hoppiness.

Hazy amber with small head, fair lacing. Lots of hops, resiny, fruit with toffee in aroma with light yeast presence. Medium bodied with long bitter finish, tempered by pleasant maltiness.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2005 This pours a very nice brown with an orange hew with a fine white head that lasts and laces well. The nose is brown (if brown were a smell) and lightly hoppy. The mouthfeel is medium. The malts are very balanced with bittersweet hops, and the tastes are piney, orangish, and grassy. APAs are often overbearing and this one is not. It is a lesson in subtlety, though it could use some more flavor in the trailing end.

Pours amber with a small head. Light hop and average malt flavor. Slight citrus taste. Nothing special, but better than your average bar offering.

Orangish-amber with virtually no head to speak of, but fairly well carbonated. Sweet mandarin orange aroma. Sweet and citric at first gulp, with little power to back it up. Goes down far too easily.
