2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle, Chicago airport. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, fully diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, orange). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A rather uninspiring pale ale.

Pour is a nice orange color with no head. Aroma is of citrus hops. Flavor is a bit weak but you get the hops and malts in there. A fine pale ale but still lacking somthing. Overall very ok.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 16, 2008 One of the beers that got me going on craft beer. These days its pretty middle of the road. Everything is pretty uninspiring, yet good enough for an everyday staple beer.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Orange-borwn color with a thin pale head. Grapefruit scneted citrus hops aroma. Flavor is malty with a mixture of sour fruits. Light bodied palate which is not very interesting. A slight aftertaste. Nothing special but not bad. This is a beer I would enjoy while eating grilled food.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2006 Pours dark gold with deep orangish hints and a very thin white head. Aroma of fresh ’C’ hops, grapefruit, citrus, and pine trees. Taste is clean, hoppy, and straightfoward. Some light toasted malts and sweet caramel in the background, but the main focus is the hops. Because of this, old bottles can be a bit unpleasant. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly resinous with moderate carbonation.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz. bottle. Amber/orange color with a small white head. Mild citrus hop aroma and flavor with a strange aftertaste that reminded me of green tea(though not in a good way).

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from a summer pack of goose island beers. Best by 10/05. Pours an orangish copper. Smells of malted grain and “band-aid”? The flavor was generally mild and malty. Not too many descriptors needed for this one. I also detected some sort of unpleasant taste deep down in this one (also noted in after taste). Stale and/or band-aid (kept coming to mind). The body was smooth with a bit of an astringent finish. Nothing too great.

Alefest ’05 - Standard issue. Grainy flavor in an otherwise melancholy blandness.
