3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance-- pours a cream colored 1/2" head that recedes slowly leaving decent lacing. Color is amber/copper and mostly clear with abundant carbonation bubbles streaming.
Aroma-- very malty -- smells of slight cinnamon and a moist dough, such as a warm muffin from the oven, a peppery hop spice is also evident.
Mouthfeel-- mostly light, watery, and refreshing. Has a somewhat lager like mouthfeel with a dry finish, although there is some of the fluffiness which should be present in the English Bitter style.
Flavor-- well balanced, hops are in the background and subservient to the malt. Flavors include a peppery and earthy hop spice, a rich bready malt (again like a fresh warm muffin, or a fresh whole wheat bread). There is some caramel and just a hint of cinnamon. This beer is not overly sweet and the aftertaste has a lingering citrus rind bitterness.

A very approachable Bitter, glad to see Honkerís now available locally - love the combination and balance of light hoppy flavors mixed with near amber malts.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I must be losing my mind. I assumed this was a red ale... because this comes in a bottle with a red label. When it poured into my glass it looked really light in color. I thought to myself, "well, this is a horrible looking red ale." Still, thinking it was a red ale, I did, regardless of its color, smell some wonderful, rich, fruity caramel aromas that impressed me. And then I learned that this was an English bitter. Boy, do I feel stupid. Still, its sweet, full nose stood out to me, even thinking it was a red.
Very clear, like a sheet of glass-like amber, this beer has a very airy head and no head retention. Its sweetness is very English-like, with a fruitiness that almost reminds me of a winter warmer or fruitcake. Itís wicked good in the mouth: clean, balanced, and with a big fruit factor that is very well-balanced with malts and hops (still with the fruitiness defining the beer for me). Itís like a light winter warmer. As slippery in the mouth as it is on the nose, it goes down way too easy, tickling my sweet tooth with each sip. This may be one of the best sub-4.5% ABV beers Iíve ever had. Not bad! Very sessionable, and full-palated for such a light beer. Tons of residual sweetness somehow works out here.

Pours a rich amber color with a medium head. Mild bitterness, with some tasty fruit and bread notes. A good beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Amber brew with the smell of mostly malts. Taste is that of caramel malts with a hint of hops. Overall a good brew but without something to really catch my interest canít say it would be something I will be looking for at the store.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Brown side of gold cloudiness. Aroma is hues of citrus. Not particularly pungent. Flavour is non descript with slight dry bitter finish. Foam head off white. Un complex beer, a bit disappointing.
