Aroma is hoppy with a mellow malt smell. Appearance is golden, a medium color, with a small head. Taste is very well balanced between hops and malt, with a medium body. Overall, quite delicious.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2013 For a bitter itís actually not that bitter. It has a sweet fruity taste that finishes bitter. I like it in moderate, infrequent quantities.

Goose Island Honkerís Ale is a pleasant ale, but nothing outstanding. No aroma detected. Amber pour was topped with a decent head. Honkerís was well-balanced but not particularly a standout. Finish was clean on the palate. Honkers Ale is a decent ale.

On tap at Harryís. A hazy orange amber color with a thick, creamy, white foam head that retains well. Aroma is citrusy, grapefruit rind, with strong notes of fresh grain. Taste is sweet toasted malts and caramel up front followed by some woody notes and flavors of unsweetened black tea. A good amount of hop bite is present in the finish. Medium bodied and creamy.

Light malty aroma, color is a muddy red. Flavor is nice sweet buttery malt, but it is a little muddy, not to crisp clean or to the point.

Umm. Now that was quite good. Actually better than I thought. Nice old penny copper color. Head didnt hang around long though. Nice balance between the malt and hops. Nice chewy aftertaste-not unpleasant at all. I'll buy it again.

Pours dark copper with a white head. Citrus aromas come through. Mod bitter taste with a better bitter finish.

Aroma is mild yet pleasant with a touch of semi-sweet malts and perhaps a spicing from hops. A real solid smelling beer considering the bitter style. The drink is bland with no real taste other than a minor bitterness of hops whereas the malts are missing altogether.
