3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
An average ESB for the common man. You can find this at O’Hare at Chili’s, FOX Sports bar/grill. A better alternative than the BMC options. Nothing great, but decent.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This a quality light bodied beer. Nice copper color. Mild aroma of malt, hops, and a hint of citrus, possibly orange peel. Flavors are dominated by hops with an inkling of malt and caramel flavors up front. Easy drinking.

Amber colored. Lots of hops and malt on the nose. A real smooth, hoppy ale with a bitter finish. Quite good.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On draught at the Irish Embassy. Almost no aroma, probably because it’s so cold. Golden brown with thin white head. Typical bitter flavours of biscuit, bit of lemon and caramel. Not too bad, but rather boring.

Well balanced between sweetness and bitterness, with sweetness coming out on top. A bit thin on the palate. There’s both hops and malts in the aroma. Dark amber colour. (355 ml bottle)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance-- pours a cream colored 1/2" head that recedes slowly leaving decent lacing. Color is amber/copper and mostly clear with abundant carbonation bubbles streaming.
Aroma-- very malty -- smells of slight cinnamon and a moist dough, such as a warm muffin from the oven, a peppery hop spice is also evident.
Mouthfeel-- mostly light, watery, and refreshing. Has a somewhat lager like mouthfeel with a dry finish, although there is some of the fluffiness which should be present in the English Bitter style.
Flavor-- well balanced, hops are in the background and subservient to the malt. Flavors include a peppery and earthy hop spice, a rich bready malt (again like a fresh warm muffin, or a fresh whole wheat bread). There is some caramel and just a hint of cinnamon. This beer is not overly sweet and the aftertaste has a lingering citrus rind bitterness.
