COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honker’s Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honker’s Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one you’ll look forward to time and again.

Unclear amber, small white head. Aroma is dry hoppy and sweet. Fruity and hoppy, mildly malty taste. Not bad if you are looking for something easily quaffable.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2004 Clear amber with a medium diminishing white head. Aroma of pine resin, caramel, grapefruit and bread. Medium watery body with lively carbonation. Flavor of pine, grapefruit, caramel, bread, and a hint fo spice. Fairly standard, drinkable. Decent.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Produced a clear ale with an amber-orange body with no head (perhaps because of my pour and the cold temperature of the beer.) The aroma was a clean, crisp hops. First taste provided medium to heavy bitterness which lingered throughout the tasting. The overall body of the ale was clean, medium bodied with a bitter, metallic aftertaste which diminished quickly. The "rich malt middle" provided in the commercial description was not evident, though I have found that a pale ale’s malt notes develop as it reaches room temperature.

Pours a dark yellow with a thin white head. It has a sweet, toasty corn flake aroma with a hint of hops. The taste is of piney hops and a light, smooth, slightly sweet cereal finish. Not bad!

Very nice looking cloudy copper color with an amber tint. A light khaki colored head leaves nice lacing on the glass. Light aroma of sweet hops with an undertone of honey. A mild hop flavor starts and finishes the taste with malts coming through in the middle. Like hop glazed malts. Mild grassy flavor, decent amount of spices and a bread flavor underneath. Finishes grassy and citrusy. Some carbonation in the palate. Simple but enjoyable beer.
