COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honker’s Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honker’s Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one you’ll look forward to time and again.

Had from a bottle at McGrady’s Irish Pub in Charlottesville. Pours a rich dark orange/copper with an inch of slightly off white head. Aroma is some sweet caramel, a touch of grain and a bit of spice. Taste wise, mostly caramel to the exclusion of anything else, perhaps a trace of hop bite in the very beginning but otherwise pure sweet caramel. Medium bodied. Simply too sweet for an authentic English bitter, lacking the dry, clean crisp finish of something like Young’s Bitter. Inspired by English ales? Perhaps. Living up to them? Nope.

Pours a golden color with a nice white head. has a spicy hoppy smell and taste. A solid beer that goes down smooth.

A pretty standard pale ale. Some bottles are clearly better than others and when fresh on draft, this beer is great. Citrusy and crisp. Could use a little more hops and malt. Hit or miss - sometimes tastes liek iced tea.

Pours a light copper with small but lingering white head which lasts throughout. Aroma is caramel malt, toffee, citrus and leafy hops. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter, fresh and zesty. Compared to all English bitters I have had this comes out better, none of the dank vegetable type taste/aroma. Very nice indeed!

Medium bodied english ale, orangy caramel in color. Not my favorite style, for no particular reason. Just seems kind of boring. Highly drinkable but just average all around.

Bottle. Pours clear golden brown. Light head with little lacing. Nice aroma with a hint of fruits. Medium body with a sharp bitter taste that is somewhat lasting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not too bad for an ale. A little hoppy but not near as intense as others. I wouldn’t turn one down but if it’s more than a couple I would probably take a pass...

Pours copper into a pint glass with a thin white head. Honkers has moderate hop aroma, pine and citrus stands out. The flavor is mild, nuttiness up front with hop bitterness to finish. Flavorful and drinkable.

Very bitter and citrusy. I really like this beer with spicy foods as well as pizza. Honker’s Ale was one of the first "craft" beers I had ever tried, so it was a bit to get used to coming from a Miller Lite upbringing. I’ve stuck with it as I’ve grown as a beer lover, and I’m glad I have. It’s now one of my favorite everyday beers; good quality and taste for a decent price. It may be considered overrated by some, but this ESB/APA has a very underrated ability of expanding the palates of those who are uninitiated to good beer.

From draft - orange/amber with medium off-white head. Citrus hops aroma. Well balanced beer and flavorful for me. Malts are evident, but more hoppy than I expected. It was the best offering of the night at a fundraiser, and enjoyed it much more than all the Bud products that were offered, including "Hophound". Finishes mildly bitter and IMO a very good session beer. Cheers!
