COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honkerís Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honkerís Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one youíll look forward to time and again.

UPDATED: JUL 7, 2013 Medium brown color, small head. Roasted, nutty malts, floral hops with very little hop bitterness. Nice balance. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is malty, with a bit of bitterness. The malts shine through on this beer.

On Tap, Decent beer. Excellent flavor for an English pale ale. I will add more to the decription once I get a hold of an actual bottle of the stuff.

Bottle at Porterhouse Cork. Pours a nice clear amber gold with a nice half-inch white head and great lacing. Lovely looking beer. Aroma is refreshingly complex, with lots of orange, straw and grass being balanced with roasted malt and dry-hop bitterness. Medium sweetness with a light hoppy bitterness and a slight sour citrus hint. Medium dry finish with a nice lively carbonation and lingering bitterness. Really tasty and complex bitter, will definitely try again especially in the summertime.

Poured from the bottle into a glass. A nice ale very easy to drink. Had as part of a variety pack and this was the 2nd best one.

Bottle. May be the worst Goose Island beer I've had. Nice appearance, so it was at least pretty to look at as it was poured down the drain.

Not a huge fan of this beer. It is somewhat malty, somewhat hoppy, somewhat not good for some reason. Its blend is ok, the complexity lacks, and the flavors are muddled. I didnít find this refreshing but didnít find it terrible either. There are much better from goose island

I liked it alot but there is only so much you can do with an ale. After a while you really got to know your stuff to make major judgements on different types of ales. I...well I just drink the stuff. I canít tell you the strain of hops used.

355ml bottle. Pours clear amber with a frothy head. Fruity, hoppy aroma, caramel and fruit taste with some tartness

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2005 This pours a very nice brown with an orange hew with a fine white head that lasts and laces well. The nose is brown (if brown were a smell) and lightly hoppy. The mouthfeel is medium. The malts are very balanced with bittersweet hops, and the tastes are piney, orangish, and grassy. APAs are often overbearing and this one is not. It is a lesson in subtlety, though it could use some more flavor in the trailing end.
