COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honkerís Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honkerís Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one youíll look forward to time and again.

Pretty good, but now part of "And howís her bush", so there is reason for skepticism about how this will all flesh-out. Watch how it will all of a sudden start hogging shelf space, now that AB owns it. It is all about shelf space and distributors in the liquor business.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2006 12 oz bottle. Beautiful transmitted orange color; has a cloudy/murky reflected color. Initial reaction = not as good as Bass but better than Redhook; put it just under S.Nevada. Actually well balanced. Excellent aroma, decent lacing. Medium to high on the conditioning bite/sting. APA for sure; trying to copy the Brits using indiginous materials...Got a strange buzz from this beer, and I detect the piney-ness which is in their IPA (someone mentioned that this is the Chinook hop). Tastes like thier IPA w/ less hops.

While in Chi-town, I tried this at a local pub. Not great. Not bad. Not mediocre. It is what it was, and shall be. It was who I thought it would be, but I let it off the hook. But I digress. If there was a table with this stuff, Schlitz and Blatz, I would pound the Blatz, eye the Schlitz and let the ill-educated city folk have at this overpriced swill. All the while gleaming with VICTORY beaming from my blood shot eyes. Donít question it. Donít bother. Iíve been to Milwaukee so I ought to know.

Pours a clear light amber with a slightly red hue. Slight head and lacing that doesnít linger. Slight nose of pine hops against a sweet background. Light medium body and good carbonation. The taste is laid back with a mild bitterness predominating a light sweetness. Very well balanced with a short burst of mild hop flavor that is balanced between pine and citrus. Clean crisp finish with a slight lingering bitterness that is somewhat tart. A very good session beer for non-hopheads.

Very hoppy, a delicious pale ale. I have never had this prior to the AB purchase, but it is wonderful and I donít see what people are so worried about.

Nice copper color when poured with a pillowy head. Slightly bitter with a bit of a fruity aftertaste. Wife liked it.

Pours a deep amber with a thick white foam that stays. Mild malty flavor with a slightly thick creamy vanilla mid taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Pours a nice golden amber color with a white head and medium lacing. Very little aroma, just a bit of an apple scent and a little malt. Flavor is sour more than bitter with a little aftertaste.

Very good beer. Hoppy but not overly so. Decent lasting head and good carbonation.
