Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honkerís Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honkerís Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one youíll look forward to time and again.

Very bitter and citrusy. I really like this beer with spicy foods as well as pizza. Honkerís Ale was one of the first "craft" beers I had ever tried, so it was a bit to get used to coming from a Miller Lite upbringing. Iíve stuck with it as Iíve grown as a beer lover, and Iím glad I have. Itís now one of my favorite everyday beers; good quality and taste for a decent price. It may be considered overrated by some, but this ESB/APA has a very underrated ability of expanding the palates of those who are uninitiated to good beer.

From draft - orange/amber with medium off-white head. Citrus hops aroma. Well balanced beer and flavorful for me. Malts are evident, but more hoppy than I expected. It was the best offering of the night at a fundraiser, and enjoyed it much more than all the Bud products that were offered, including "Hophound". Finishes mildly bitter and IMO a very good session beer. Cheers!

Fruity and a little bit of malt. I pick up some smoke in the finish. I like Bellís and 3Floyds much better though.

Pours a slightly hazy amber, minimal head. Aroma is faint and is sweet malt and spicy hops. Flavor is malty and slightly bready Caramel and a hint of nuttiness, with a nice spicy bitterness. Finish is dry. A nice hop/malt blend. Very good.

Draught @ Flying Saucer Little Rock 5-2-07. Clear golden copper. Faint sour aroma, some hops. Flavor is slightly sour, with a nice nutty finish. Not as fruity as some English PAís but a good beer nonetheless.

I had this on tap in Chicago and then from the bottle in Iowa City and then on tap in Iowa City. The Iowa City waiter said it was the best beer he'd had in a long time. Poor bastard. I liked it a lot in Chicago and not so much in Iowa City in either form. On tap in Chicago it was creamy and delicious, just hopped so and slightly sweet. The Iowa City experiences were overly bitter and rather flavorless. Haven't been able to touch the stuff since, and it's scared me off their other products.

UPDATED: JUL 7, 2013 Medium brown color, small head. Roasted, nutty malts, floral hops with very little hop bitterness. Nice balance. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is malty, with a bit of bitterness. The malts shine through on this beer.

Thanks to Kyle for sharing this treat. Poured a cloudy orange with a withe head. Smell the hops in this one. Finish was bitter.

Copper hue, lacey medium head. Citrus hops with malty notes make it bitter but bearable. Found on tap at The Hornets Nest in Browns Mills, NJ.

Small bottle, brown, library bar teviot. Pours light amber with a thin white head lasting. Scent is pale malt, lager like yeast. Taste is medium bodied sweet malt, hints of caramel, finishing smooth. Plain, sessionable, good.
