COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honker’s Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honker’s Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one you’ll look forward to time and again.

Test vom 18.3.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,8,9,8,9,8 - 8,10

It is hazy, dark orange with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt, fruit and caramel. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of fruit, citrus (mostly oranges), caramel and malt. The finish is dry, and the beer is uncomplicated and pleasant, it seems very British in the hop choice.

Copper colored pour with a tall off-white head. Nose is bread, toffee, toast, and herbal hops. Floral and grassy notes, some hints of caramel, and very subtle citrus peel. Tastes mostly of toasted bread with some caramel and toffee notes, too. Decent sweetness with only a mild herbal and pine hop bitterness. Light grass and floral hops, maybe a bit of citrus, too.

Bottled: Amber coloured. Unclear. Dense light beige head.. Sweet and light caramelly aroma. Flavour is sweet and a bit boring. Watery and thin. Has not much to offer in the end.

Bottled, 355ml from Beers of Europe, Norfolk. Orange gold with fizzed white head. This is way too carbonated for me and certainly to match ’pub’ beers, wet cardboard on the aroma and initial flavour. There is a fruity sweetness within the malt, sweet orange notes then a reasonable earthy leafy hop, but the initial flavour put me off I’m sorry to say. Not for me.
