COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honkerís Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honkerís Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one youíll look forward to time and again.

I canít believe Iíve never rated this before. The pour is a deep burnished copper colour with a thick off white headÖ pretty good looking really. Lovely nose with a soft fruitiness composed of cherry and a touch of berries. There is a bit of caramelly/bready character on the back. Soft and chewy with just a bit of herbal/spicy hoppiness. Fruity and lovely. Really, quite a surprise how much I like this.

Bottle. Fresh berry malt aroma. Medium amber color with small head. Lightly sweet malt flavor with light hops finish. An easy drinking beer - a bit light on the hops for the style but still very good.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2012 I really liked this one. Golden orange colour with little head. Hoppy fruity (orange) aroma. The flavour is also orangey and very smooth a typical pale ale taste. Very pleasant and moreish. It appears this is right up some peopleís street but not others. Iím a fan though. Score 3.9

Mmmm, light and soapy with a metallic edge. Not a good beer.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out light English hops and some soft crackery malts. Flavour is clean, with very restrained English malts, not a whole lot of hops. Dry, bland, but drinkable. Would be better on cask. Okay.

(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, orange amber colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Sweet cara-malty and slightly nutty aroma with fruity (citrus, grape-fruit) and slightly spicy hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Cara-malty, initially bready and subtle nutty taste with fruity aroma hops; almost dry, sweet-bitter but also a bit slim and short finish. Otherwise an aromatic and likeable Ale. 22.II.10

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2007 [rerate needed] Nice rich color, good hoppy flavor. Not as strong as most pale ales, but has a nice texture in my mouth.

Pours amber with white head, aroma is a bit hoppy with some malt. Taste up front is a bit of floral sweet hops with some sweet caramel back bone and a bit of a dry and sweet finish. Not bad.

My Bottom Line:
Soft caramel and leafy bitterness coincide in the middle of fruity angles in this balanced Ordinary Bitter-like brew.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the clear amber.
-Carbonation is low, making the caramel flavors stand out even more.
-Flavor intensity is easygoing, as is to be expected from this type of beer.
-This might be quite authentic when naturally carbonated and on a handpump.

On tap at the Clybourn location.

Copper pour, with 2-finger, creamy white head. Aroma of malt, some honey, corn flakes, peanuts, bread. Very unique aroma. Tastes malty, with a big corn flake taste and some honey at the finish. Semi-dry palate. This beer is very unique, and very good.
