lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA Jan 18, 2007 Single bottle purchased in Fayetteville, AR.
Pours a clear copper, a frothy and persistent but thin tan head. Some fine lacing in the glass. Smells of sweet citrus and herbal hops. Certainly not the traditional hop varieties to make and English style bitter! Some fruity pale malt aromas too.
Taste is lightly sweet pale malt with balancing faint herbal hops. Light in the mouth but nicely balanced and tasty. Not much more going on. A nicely balanced American-style bitter. Would be a nice session beer and is a decent drinker. If it was local, would be a regular.
Uaru02 (7), Simpsonville, Kentucky, USA does not count Sep 5, 2008 A good beer worth having if the IPA isn’t available. Smooth with lots of flavor. Not as hoppy as I like, but good balance. MiP (5096), Flensburg, Germany Sep 2, 2008 Bottle, 4.3%. Clear amber colour, small stable white head. Very caramelly aroma. Teaish, almost to the point of Swedish snuff. Caramelly flavour, also a bit teaish. Quite flavourful for ABV. BlockBrew (83), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Aug 30, 2008 Pours a copper orange color with no head. Smells of orange and some citrus from the hops. Medium body. Tastes primarily of citrus with a nice leafy hops finish. Not to bitter, overall very solid. AllAboutStout (479), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 28, 2008 Pours a dark auburn in color. Decent inch of head sitting atop. Smell is mostly hops. Taste is bitter. Not a hoppy bitter, just a different bitter. Lots of malt in this beast. Medium feel in the mouth and decent. Not a beer that I’ll revisit. meisterbrauMHB (20), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 24, 2008 Very drinkable pale ale. Good balance of hops and malt that finishes with a creamy ending. Worth trying again.
