DATE TASTED: February 13, 2014... GLASSWARE: Kisatskyís Tavern pint...OCCASION: snow day half done--part two of the storm, beginning now ... APPEARANCE: classic amber body with steady effervescence; beautiful snow white head that creates wonderful, patterned lacing... AROMA: butterscotch, hazelnut, and light yet fragrant hops are counterbalanced by the expected English bitter malts...PALATE: active, medium bodied yet easy-drinking, as the label advertises...TASTE: bitter indeed--slightly abrasive bite tempered by unmistakable ESB maltiness--drinkable and enjoyable, but not overtly winning... OVERALL: a strong representation of the style, with the proper strength, mouthfeel and flavor to elicit a sessionable night; a second quality offering from Goose Island, after the 312 Wheat...

Nice aroma right off. Citrus and malt. Pours with a minimal head, lingers longer than it should, but leaves no lacing. Beautiufl amber color....Taste is lemon right away, but itís not bitter, itís sweetish. I taste roasted malt, but not a lot of hops. Finishes a little bitter but clean...Mouthfeel is medium dry. Itís crisp....Overall, itís a good ale. A really good ale. Itís extremely sessionable.

Gylden brun klar med hÝyt offwhite skum. Lukter rÝde bśr og karamell. Medium humlebitter smak men ellers ganske vannete i smaken, medium kullsyre.

Draught @ Dusty's, Whistler-Creekside B.C. Clear red copper, negligible head. Bready and malty, but fairly dry finish for an English style bitter. Cara lingers, bit too sweet.

Bottle. Booths, Ilkley. Clear, copper colour. Thin, but tight, lasting, sticky, pale beige head. Woody fruits to it, a bit like grape stalks. Toffee malts. Some hop spice. Taste is spicy dry. Light bitter. Fairly thin palate, with a metallic edge to it. Finishes short dry, with a hint of spicy bitter. Good take on an English bitter, but English bitters arenít my preferred style.

3/8/15 (Bottle) - Nice solid pour and texture, copper brown with minimal white head and a decent amount of carbonation. Aroma a pleasant orange, caramel and lemon scent. Taste very smooth malt and hops blend, and the fruits are also present. Nice texture and kick, despite the low ABV. Overall a solid beer and one Iíll be turning to down the road.

Honkers Ale is normal beer that should be in the pub menu. In aroma you can feel fruits and the first taste is nice but after few sec you have got metallic palate. Glad that itís not long feeling.
