Aroma: Slight maltiness initially. Some frusity esters come out as it warmed as well. Hint of earthy hops. Appearance: Crystal clear pale color, low head but good rentention. Taste: Initial sweetness from the malt gives way to a mild bittering on the tounge. Has a very clean aftertaste. Palate: Very good mouthfeel for the style, clean finish with a nice malty and hoppy aftertaste. Overall impression: A very nice beer, I find it hard to find a good english bitter in the US, but this is a great example of the style.

Fruity caramel aroma. Clear copper body with a modest half inch head. Mild bitter character with a modest malt base. Dry in the finish. Enjoyable.

Some light citrus with OK barley profile. Light bitter finish. Pours orange with ok head and lacing. Bottle at Goose Island in O’Hare - pretty much the only thing available.

Great caramel smell, malty with a berry fruit sensation on the nose. Taste follows with a lot of caramel, biscuity berry and hop hints. Crushable, supremely pairable with most foods. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My Bottom Line:
Soft caramel and leafy bitterness coincide in the middle of fruity angles in this balanced Ordinary Bitter-like brew.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the clear amber.
-Carbonation is low, making the caramel flavors stand out even more.
-Flavor intensity is easygoing, as is to be expected from this type of beer.
-This might be quite authentic when naturally carbonated and on a handpump.

On tap at the Clybourn location.

Poured from bottle into pint glass. Nice color. Malty and biscuit notes in the smell that carry over to the taste as well. Enjoyable beer.

A nice break from the over hopped, trendy IPAs that everyone is into nowadays. Good to have as honest Ale again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
