COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honker’s Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honker’s Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one you’ll look forward to time and again.

I would take no other beer inside the continental United States over this one. What can I say, the Windy City never lets you down

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 This is a terrific beer. Nearly perfect, really. It is a malt ninja in an era of H-bombs. Hop heads (me included), take heed of how a well balanced, subdued, old-school ESB is made! Yes, I am aware that it is listed under "English Pale Ale"--It is an ESB through and through! A perfect blend of malts, yeast and hop characters, with smoky and bready malts taking centre stage. From the great honey and biscuits nose to the apricot and peat notes in the mouth, to the great and prolonged finish; this beer is superb. Worth moving to Chicago for.

Pours clear golden amber with a fluffy white head. Smells hoppy with malty undertones. Has a mild flavor, lightly bitter and still satisfying. Between light to medium-bodied with a creamy texture and softer mouth carbonation, Honker’s Ale finishes smooth and satisfying. Quite drinkable.

A very good beer. Wonderful color, Goes down extremely smooth. A beer that I can drink quite a few of without getting bored of the flavor.

Slight hop aroma with some yeasty notes. Feels great on the tongue and the roof of the mouth. Taste is classic to the English style with an American hops flourish.

Heavy malt, caramel, and milk shocolate, moderate hoppiness of flowers and pine, oak, toffee, honey, syrup, and alcohol. Head was small, off white mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Medium hue, amber in color. Light sweet and acidic with moderate bitterness. Very tasty and drinkable the more you drink the better it taste with the hops fading to the back ground and the malt really shining through. Overall a very excellent Pale Ale.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2009 Amber with good, foamy beige head / Light to medium body with good balance and finish / Flavors of toasted malt, orange peel, lemon, and candied caramel flavors / A fine example of the style.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. The label has a brief description and a "bottled on" date but no ABV%. Appearance: On top of a nice orange amber body sits a good two finger tall eggshell colored foam head. The head hangs on well and makes cool lace patterns on the glass. Smell: The aroma has a nice sweet maltiness with caramel and a good balance of citrus hops. Taste/Palate: Up first there is a simple bready maltiness with some mild caramel like sweetness and light toasted grain with faint hints of fruitiness. This is balanced by pleasant citrus and leafy hop bitterness. The medium body has a smooth feel and drinks easily. Notes: This is just a strait up tasty ale with great drinkability
