Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honker’s Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honker’s Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one you’ll look forward to time and again.

A descent ale. Probably the best thing ive had from the goose island brewery. A little too bitter but otherwise an ok beer.

An interesting pale ale. Good combination of malt and hops, but the flavor is unique. A bitter, sweet, and spicy taste is not for everyone.

pretty dark and malty for a ’pale’ ale. pretty good, but could be hoppier.

Has that damn perm or ’barber shop’ hops smell to it. Anyone know what kind of hops these are? Very light, even for an APA. Not as much malt presence as I like, even in an APA. This is OK. Funny, I""ve heard two people rave about this to me; I feel a bit let down.

12oz bottle BBD 013005 Amber hued, faint head. Malty, bready nose, hint of spicy hops. Biscuity, nutty malts dominate the light-bodied brew. Vanishes in the finish. Hops are subtle, too much so. An OK, but largely empty beer, more akin to a brown ale than an APA.

Bottle. LIght to medium amber color. Fast fading white head. Some lacing. Modest hop aroma is slightly fruity and citric. Mouthfeel is medium. Rather boring in flavor. A little malt and a little hop. Fair at best.

12oz. bottle. Amber/orange color with a small white head. Mild citrus hop aroma and flavor with a strange aftertaste that reminded me of green tea(though not in a good way).

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with OhioDad, thanks Scott!) I’m generally not a fan of really dry beers, and this offering seems pretty dry to me. A somewhat toasty, even slightly roasty malt base shows almost no sweetness, and the hops are moderately bitter with a touch of citrus. The nose is also toasty and minimally sweet. Body is nearly medium, but very dry, clean and lightly crisp in the finish. Clear amber in color, topped by a small off-white head that gradually fades away to a very tiny ring and leaves no lacing. Not a bad beer at all, and I’m sure it has many fans, but it totally fails to enthuse me.
