Bottled. Once in a while I gotta remember to have one of these as reminder of “how it all started” in this area. The Goose’s flagship beer is one of those that can start anybody on the road to good beer appreciation. An appealing orangey pour with a good head. Caramel roasty malts, and a floral/bitter hop character that only insinuates itself after a few sips. Toward the bottom of the glass, it even took on a bit of IPA character. Wonderful fruity ale taste.

355ml bottle at Forks & Corks, Highgate on 11th May 2015. Pours a deep hazy amber with thinning off-white vanishing foam and scant lacing. Hoppy and fruity aroma. Leafy, grassy hops, a citric tang and plenty of malt in-mouth. Hoppy finish with malt and a slight lactic note. Zingy mouthfeel and medium body.

Small bottle, brown, library bar teviot. Pours light amber with a thin white head lasting. Scent is pale malt, lager like yeast. Taste is medium bodied sweet malt, hints of caramel, finishing smooth. Plain, sessionable, good.

Yet again, I’d like to hate this stuff but.....it’s a decent brew. There’s nothing special here. Dark gold pour. Grassy nose. Slightly toasted/nutty malt with a simple bitter finish. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m on vacation but this stuff goes down easy as hell.

Great caramel smell, malty with a berry fruit sensation on the nose. Taste follows with a lot of caramel, biscuity berry and hop hints. Crushable, supremely pairable with most foods.
