Using our Weinhenstephan hefeweizen yeast and 8 lbs of Amarillo hops, we created this golden colored floral ale.

Draught at Goose Island Clybourn. Opaque orange with a lasting white head. Big Amarillo aroma with just a hint of banana underneath. This is pretty much all hops. The flavor is very heavy of the orange notes from the Amarillo and the yeast provides just a touch of background character that seems as Belgian as anything. Wheat provides a nice texture to the mouthfeel. Bitterness is medium and about solid for a hoppy APA. Amarillo by itself has become less and less my thing lately, and this tastes like they are trying to do alpha king with German yeast. A fine beer but not the next trend the way I see it.
