Beershine (1440), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 14, 2008 Bottle, special procuement. Cloudy-plus, thick looking. Brown sugar. Sugar can syrup with minerals. Corn syrup. Gritty mouthfeel and thins in the finish. Overall, interesting.
ucusty (1217), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 21, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - thanks to Mr Facto for sharing! Bottle from 2005! Hazy orange pour. Lots suspended floaters. Big yeasty aroma. Sweet malts with some fruity esters. slightly dry metallic finish JCB (1072), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 20, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - thanks to Facto for sharing! A handbottle that is from 2005, I think. Very gloudy orange pour, the yeast swirling visibly even as it comes through in the nose as well. Fruity malts seem to dominate this one, with most of its complexities seeming to have been washed out with the hops. Glad to try it but a bit murky at this point. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 13, 2008 Hazy amber. Rich malty nose with alcohol, light peach, and some phenols. Soft caramel, with an earthy character. Has a gentle fruitiness and finishes with an alcoholic splash that melds with the caramel. douglas88 (831), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA May 31, 2008 2005 handbottle thanks to Drnk_McDermott. Pours a cloudy copper with a medium white head and a good bit of sludge in the bottom. The aroma is a malty and fruity mix, some caramel and toffee also. The taste has really held up well; a nice smooth malt body full of dry fruit and metallic aspects. Quite nice, I’d like to have it fresh to compare. footbalm (1217), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA May 31, 2008 Bottle shared from Doug. we were both kinda’ wondering what in the dickens this style was going to be. We were sure maybe an ASA or BW. Makes sense as there were some difined fruit and toffee notes. I was thinking a watered done rootbeer or coke as an undertone. Thanks Doug.
