COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

12oz bottle, Best when consumed by 050107. Pours a slightly hazy honey orange with a one finger eggshell head. Aroma of perfumey floral and grapefruity hops, some caramel and biscuity malts--leaning more towards biscuity. Flavor comes across as perfumey hops, a bit of grass, and a nice biscuity backbone. Bitterness never gets beyond moderate. Semidry mildly bitter finish. Moderate carbonation, light to medium bodied. Was surprised I hadn’t rated this long ago.

Bottle from Ross. Thanks brother! Pours golden orange with a minimal white head. Flavor is juicy and piney hops throughout. A great ipa that I would buy more of was it available to me.

Nice sweet hoppy aroma. Pours golden yellow with a small white head that disappears quickly. No noticeable carbonation. Medium sweet hop induced frutyness. Little froth, almost flat mouth feel. Flavor stays with you all way to the bottom of the glass. This is a full flavor beer that is not overpowering. For my money, and I didn’t pay much, This is a decent ale.

Big jump to go from 4 straight traditional scottish ales, with no hops, to this. Got that great aroma, not too bitter with some nice hops throughout. Pretty good stuff.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2007 Very much a mediocre IPA. Some mild flavor of hops, grapefruit, malt, and yeast but neither well blended nor well balanced. Finish tastes like cardboard.

Bottle. Clear amber to light copper with a craggy white head. Striped lacing. Grapefruit and some floral hop aromas. Biscuity to light caramely malt body infused with grapefruit zest hoppiness. Finishes very clean and dry for the style, with just the mildest hoppy/bitter aftertaste. Subtle carbonation. Relatively modest ABV for the style and overall drinkability may alllow this to be considered a "session IPA." I can imagine this being the ideal pizza beer.

A great IPA from Chicago. This is the first Goose Island brew I’ve had and if the rest are anything like this they will be on top of my list of brewers! The pour was a hazy orange with a thin white head. The taste was all malt offsetted by a great hoppy bitter aftertaste. Gooses honk and I would honk for another bottle of this! World class!

Bottle. Dark yellow, with a medium off-white head. From the aroma, this beer is pretty heavily hopped. Mostly a pine smell. Light and resinous, with a slight bit of malt. Despite the light body, the finish is a bit sour.

12 oz bottle: a medium hopped citrus aroma with a small amount malts in the scent. Appearance is an orange/amber color with a small white head. Taste is more citrus than big over the top hops a light malt texture melds throughout. Palate is kind of sweet with the bitterness lingering on after a half a minute or so. Overall, as an IPA it’s a good drinking beer, but it does lack in the hop flavor. It’s a nice medium bodied beer that can be enjoyed by all.
