Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

Pours a golden amber with a frothy white head that retains fairly well and leaves decent lacing. Aroma of earthy, floral, hops and a good dose of English malt. Flavor is not very strong, but a balanced blend of said malt and a floral hop that leaves a fair amount of bitterness. Has a light, sharp, mouthfeel. An IPA representative of the original ales that defined the style. Not bad, but I do prefer the latter American counterpart.

12 oz. bottle. pours a thin head of short duration, with some lacing, over a clear honey colored (SRM 10 ) body.....nose is mild grapefruit, pineapple, ginger......taste is initially light roasted malts (toffee, bread), then light hop bitterness with some grapefruit tones, which linger......mouth feel is a bit light, carbonation is medium. A fairly typical American IPA.

Somewhat cloudy golden in color with a white head, decent lacing. Pine aroma with floral and citrus hints to it. Definite hops in there and in the taste as well. Starts out bold and continues you throughout. Light citrus taste underneath the hops. Bitter finish turns me off a bit, admittedly though, I am not a big IPA fan. That being said, its a pretty decent representation of the style.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2010 Pours a moderately cloudy golden with a medium white head. Floral aroma on the nose with citrus and caramel. Nice hop flavor up front, but not too bitter. A slight sweetness in the finish. Not one of the hoppiest IPAs I’ve had, but still a very solid offering.

Pours an orangey copper color. Moderate head. Aroma is floral and citrusy. Flavor is not bad, some hops, citrus and a good bitter to it, but doesnt stand out by any means. Good beer for drinking on a hot day.

It is a warm golden beer with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of mango, citrus, peach, spruce needles and caramel. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of fruit, mango, citrus, spruce and caramel. It is very well balanced and charmingly uncomplicated.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2009 On tap at Rattle N Hum (NYC): A solid IPA. Fruity aroma coupled with a flowery bouquet of hops flavor refreshes the palate with each taste. Pleasing and wonderfully simple. #003 on 14062009, DG.

a good but not great ipa - a little bit of sourness and that chalkiness you get really bad in porters - but nice hoppiness - could be sweeter, but probably not unless it was also hoppier and more alcoholic - I think I just like my ipas a bit more bigger in every way.
