3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I’ve never heard of this Yank brewery before, but supposedly it’s well acclaimed and I can understand why. A very nice pale ale. Tastes absolutely nothing like an IPA (in the proper English non-bastardised sense), which it purports to be. Light amber in colour and very bitter sweet. Very spicy in taste - almost something of a Belgian there. Very enjoyable!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUL 3, 2008 Rated 3/23/06: Wow! This is a well crafted IPA in all aspects. Pours a burnt orange color into my glass. There is a thick foamy head that immediately forms and eventually simmers down to a fine creamy film. Carbonation is slightly visible, and a thick lacing forms all the way down the glass. This beer is very aromatic, a bouquet of spices, malts, and bitter hops fill my senses. This is a very traditional aroma that is well balanced. The mouthfeel is thick and full with a very nice finish. The flavor is outstanding. Spicy and citrus flavors from the hops immediately hit followed by a smooth maltiness. At first the intensity from the hops overwhelm my palate but after a few tastes this beer comes together in wonderful fashion. Well rounded and outstanding in all categories, well done.

Bottle. Poured a golden yellowish color. Aroma of hops is nice. Taste is very balanced with hops all through your mouth.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A wonderful citrus - hop aroma, really punchy, little head (had to use a red wine glass) an apple-hop-brandy-caramel flavour and a delightfully charming apple schnapps finish, lovely and I am so delighted I can get it in Ireland!

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
faun head that stood its ground, beautiful amber body, sweet! as advertised dry malt with a big hop finish. That said it, still had a nice balance with a little fruity flavor. I would have this one again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A nice looking IPA with a big foamy head. Plenty of retention here, too. Aroma is full of pine. Flavor is clearly tart, as expected, but is also surprisingly sweet as the malts show up. Definitely the best American IPA I have tasted.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Quite unbalanced. Good perhaps for hopheads but not for me. Little if any backing malt noted. Mostly resinous bitterness and extremely dry.

Nicely hopped. Great citrus aftertaste. Thanks to Pisctaor for the sample. This would be my new favorite IPA (if we could get it here)

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A wonderful American IPA. Full of floral hops with distinctive lemon character.
Full of flavour one of my favourite beers.
