3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Murky orange pour...medium head. Aroma is intense, and I mean intense. I poured this puppy and was overwhelmed...so much that I took it across the room and could still smell it from 20 feet away! Grapefruit and other citrus hops are the dominant aroma. Flavor seems weak compared to the aroma, but still pretty damn good. This is one of the more drinkable IPAs I’ve had in a while! The hops aren’t over-the-top for a non-hophead and there is some malt flavors waiting in the wings to keep this from being one-dimensional. Flavor is citrusy hops up front, then some malt sweetness, followed by a bitter aftertaste. Super easy to drink with a very good mouthfeel for a beer of this ’intensity’ (e.g., not comparing to an Impy Stout). Great ’regular’ offering by the folks at GI

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Very drinkable IPA. Pours yellow with a thick head. Aroma of hops, but not too strong. Could be a little more hoppy, but not bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Light orange with tight white head. Mellow hop citrus aroma. Soft on the palate, with a hop and toasted malt finish. Good balance. Kind of reminds me a smaller Great Divide Titan.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. Bottle - Pours a golden yellowish with tons of fluffy off-white head. Smell is strong of hops, citrus, more fruit. Taste is similar starting citrusy sweet hoppy and quickly moves to the bittering aftertaste. Not the best IPA I’ve ever had - but one of the best easily attainable for cheap.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
[Had at brewpub, will rerate from home]
Nice hazy dark orange pour. Fruity aroma. Hops jump out right away, little bit of pinetree, little bit salty. Crisp palate that suits the big hop taste well.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle, White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 1 Dec 2007) Pale amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity nose with orange peel and apricots resting on a fairly sweet malt foundation with hints of toffee. Fruity taste with notes of citrus (orange, grapefruit), some underlying malt sweetness and hints of toffee, leaving with a whiff of floral hops in the finish. Nice balance, good beer.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 15, 2009 Pours a slightly hazed light honey gold with 3 finger eggshell head fading quickly and leaving a thin layer for the remainder as well as decent lacing. Aroma is citrus hops, pine, some planty floral notes, hints of grain, straw, salt water taffey and caramel. Flavor is nice sweet orange blossom up front, sweet grain, dry straw, sweet grasses, caramel, berry blossoms, some melon and grapefruit. Finish is mild grapefruit, sweet grass, light caramel, white bread and a sweet floral fade. Palate is body, dry feel and sharp carbonation. I bought this to re-rate, expecting myself to knock it down from it’s original rating, it was one of my first ratings. I was kind of gushing about how great it was because it was my standby beer for quite a while and I really liked it. I still love this beer though, it has been probably 10-12 months since I have had it and I have to say I missed it a little. I am knocking the score down a little (4.2 to 4.0) but this is still a great IPA and a great value.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle from Quinton’s (Iowa City, IA). Poured a light orange gold that was hazy. Smelled of fruits, namely ctirus. Taste is sharp, of hops and dry malts. I almost detect some piney notes but the beer mainly holds a dry citrus hoppiness that dominates. Not the best IPA out there, but certainly a formidable beer. A very inviting brew that I will drink again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured a cloudy gold, bordering on amber with a small head. Aroma was hoppy and grassy. The taste had a nice bitterness with a good malt balance. Ranked it third against 60 Minute (1st), Harpoon (2nd), and Avery (4th).
