Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop loverís dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one youíll remember.

Beautiful hasy medium amber body. Average head with good lacing. Aroma was very hoppy, herbs, grapefruit and some light pine. Flavors of walnuts, caramel, toffee, and light grain. Bittersweet up front, sweet finish. Medium body, dry, and slightly metallic finish. This was a very tasty IPA. Flying Dog does it better, but this is one of my favorites. I will be getting more of this.

12oz - Aroma is weird: soapy, grassy with some piney hops. Pours transparent copper with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor is not as soapy as aroma and has much more hop bitterness with a strong malt profile. Palate is tart and creamy. Not bad, but not great.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2007 Bottle. Orangish pour, hazier than I would have expected. Smells the hops right away on the pour with oranges and lemons. Good full body, slight bitter finish. Very refreshing IPA.

Slightly hazy orange golden with white head. The aroma is a bit spicy, with citrus hops predominating. The aroma suggests bitter spicyness, yet itís somewhat sweet for an IPA. Honeyish malt backbone with a subtle orangey light hop finish. Nice IPA, yet the bitterness is very low and the sweetness may be almost too much considering itís low dryness. But itís still a nice IPA.

Deep golden color with a very short lived head. Great pine/citrus/floral aroma. Flavor starts with lots of citrus and pine notes. Nice malt body comes through with a bitter finish. Very nice.

Aroma:I can smell the hops. Smells nice... Appearance:Medium brown. Nice head somewhat bubbly. Head dissapates quickly... Flavor:Bitter and malty. Not very burnt. Hearty... I like it..... Palate:Thin. Not very carbonated. Not necessarily the best thing about this but itís alright. Overall: I love it. Very good not a horrible price (had worse beer much more expensive). Itís damn good and I wish the rating would come higher. The palate brings it down in and of itself but it fits well with the general feel of the drink.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2006 This is better than GIís Impy IPA that cost almost $5 a bottle. This inexpensive brew is better than many higher priced IPAís. Many faint notes come together nicely-- nothing is overplayed and I leaves you guessing and wanting more. Lime/orange tea. More herbs/spices than most. Maybe banana or pear.
