COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

Nice and hoppy aroma; piney. Tough to smell with clove cigarettes during the 9th annual Prairie Rock Brewfest in Elgin, IL, however. Orangish, brown in color. Off-white head. Not much lace or head. Hoppy initial mouthfeel. Malty finish. Pollished compared to the America’s Whistle Stop Pale Ale I had right before. Nice spicey finish not unlike earlier versions of the GI Oktoberfest. Excellent brew.

Frequent trips to Chicago and the Midwest in the mid 90’s had me drink my share of Goose Island. IPA was no exception. I brought back a six-pack from a recent trip to Cleveland. Goose Island’s IPA has a citrus aroma, light (cascade?) hop flavor and mild sweetness. Easy to drink even though its higher alcohol content. WCSB Rocks!

Nice natural IPA. Well-balanced and pleasant. Got it directly on tap at the brewery and enjoyed it a lot. However it took them 5 minutes to pour it. But it was worth the wait.

attractive gold color with a frothy white head. primarily centennial-like bitterness in the aroma, but the aroma turns complex with a tangier fruitier hops presence. first taste is hoppy and bitter, but turns dry and malty. finishes pretty clean, very refreshing on a summer night. i could drink a lot of this, i think!

A nice easy to drik session IPA. Gold in color with a bit of head. Good notes of hops and some citrus. A good anytime beer.

Gold color, dissipitating foam. Lace. Grapefruit citrsu hoppy floral aroma. Grapefruit taste with some bitterness. Light creamy texture. Dry aftertaste with bit of burn. Distinctive American hops, bit aggressive and tongue still numb,

beautiful golden appearance w/ solid carbonation.. verry little head. Smell was a citrusy hoppy aroma appealing to my sence. Taste followed the smell.. mildly bitter with an odd citrus taste that I could not discern... overall this was one of the few IPA’s I’ve tried and liked as I’m not a fan of the bitter bears.

(355 ml bottle). This was my first American IPA, now available in Norway! Deep golden colour, good head. Lovely hoppy citrussy aroma. I got more pleasure sniffing this beer than I got from drinking it. Flavour is all hops (where are the malts?), dominant initial grapefruity bitterness like I expected (not unpleasant), quite drinkable, but the one-dimensional, medicinal and wormwoodlike bitterness that remains in the aftertaste is not to my liking.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2004 Shiny gold body with a soapy/fizzy white head. Light orange citrus hops aroma with some strawberry. May need to be fresher for better aroma. Flavor is also light... again, a sweet orange-light hops. The flavor is really good, but not earth shattering or powerful.

Bottled. Says its bottle conditioned but it doesn’t appear to be. Herbal hop aroma/flavour... high bitterness. Pretty good, not great.
