3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 27, 2008 this is better then two brothers heavy handed and red hook long hammer. i bring that up becuase ive just drank all three in a short period; ive had the goose IPA many times over the years but these recent sessions have brought it into perspective. for what it is -- a ímainstream craftí brewery with a non-imperial IPA -- this is above average. it is more bitter then its peers in the least subtle of descriptions, and furthermore just has íballsí. im usually not so terse but this isnt the most complicated brew. however in its own microcosm of non-complicated brews, it seems to excel.

Bottle, so cheap itís unbelievable.... The flavor is beautifully hoppy, citrus, and floral. I love this beer. Itís far from my favorite IPA, but for the price you canít go wrong. This is a great summer BQ Beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hopps prevail in this IPA, color is a little cloudy but a deep golden brown with a medium head. Full body with strong taste

An extremely hoppy IPA. The hops can be smelt from a mile away and as soon as it hits your tongue, it wonít be forgotton. A true beer for hop lovers with a full body.

Bottle. Amber with a light white medium head. Flowery hops - not as strong as I hoped. Strong lasting bitterness with minimal malt to back it up. Good full body.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This beer poured a little lighter orange colour with a very small white but pleasently aromatic head. Taste was moderately hopped, but nice finish with a classic citrus tone that lingers for a while.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap: Clear copper color with a weak aroma and taste. I was really disappointed since I was expecting a bit more from Goose Island. I am surprised to see it rated so highly. It just seemed like an average IPA that didnít stand out in any category. Call me crazy, but Iíll pass this one up next time.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
There are much better IPAís in my opinion but I still enjoyed this a lot. The smell let it down, slight clorhine (sp?) kind of smell. Lacks knackers for a too high rate but drinkable enough for sure. A little bitter for me but Iím in no way slating this as I thought it was very nice.

Bottle, Ale Cellar, Darlington. Thereís a goose loose in tha hoose...Pours a warm golden colour with thinnish white head. Citrus hop aroma, piney grapefruit hop flavour balanced nicely with maltiness. Superb hop bitterness to finish. Very drinkable.
