COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

This is a pale ale. It is a pale orangish color, and it is an ale Hops dominate the nose, but there is a more than ample malt backbone. Good medium mouthfeel, clean, hoppy follow through. Beer as it ought to be.

GABF '03. Gold pour with minimal head. Brewed more in the English Style IPA and not as hoppy as I like. Nice floral aroma and mellow malt finish.

Deep gold with a nice aroma. Wow, lots of hops in here. Strong finish and aftertaste; not a daily drinker.

Reddish-amber with a somewhat thin off-white head. Nice citrusy aroma and taste, with a decent bitter hop finish. Not bad at all.

gold in color. smells like toast with orange marmalade. starts sweet and citrusy, then a bit of a bitter hop bite... but not the 'ooomph' i like in my ipas. thin palate. not offensive, not great, but very drinkable.

Reddish-copper color with a nice head. Caramel maltiness with spicy, citrusy hops. Raisin-y undertones. Pleasant bitter aftertaste, light-creamy mouthfeel. Great session brew in my opinion. It's an average, quality IPA.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2004 Re-rate: 13/6/04 Tried again (3 bottles) whilst watching England narrowly lose to France at Euro 2004. Much better than I gave it credit for, and better than the highly enjoyable Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Refreshing and a real good, hoppy hit. // Original rating [3.1] - This looked like a nice drink, and, indeed was. An initial burst of citrus favour gives way to an extended bitter alcohol hit, and aftertaste. Quite nice.

Quite clear for an India Pale. Nice orange color to it with a lot of carbonation. There is a cream quarter inch head with some nice lacing. Definite grapefruit peel smell to it, quite citrusy and bitter smelling. Quite bitter flavor as well, but inoffensive. Good but I think that I like the flavor of the Avery IPA q bit better.

Oh my Proteus, this is an actually GOOD IPA made in Chicago! Hoppy and strong, with a surprising citrusy finish, this is a beer I'll buy again (it also helped that the six-pack (bottles) was on sale at Krogers for $4.99)!

Amber coloured. Very hoppy aroma with notes of peach-flavoured ice tea and honey. Lots of good bitterness in the flavour.
