Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop loverís dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one youíll remember.

35.5cl bottle. Best before 2010-06-15. At Patricks. It poured a golden orange colour with a small white foamy head that vanished quickly in the glass. The aroma is hoppy with notes of fruits. The flavour is gentle and smooth for an IPA. notes of hops, malts, spices and grapefruit. It has a short aftertaste.†

From the Bottle at the Smithfield Hotel, Manchester 18/07/2009 Hoppy aroma. Golden coloured fruity and hoppy with a little dryness and bitterness in a crisp malt finish.

Bottle that ogivlado shared with me and heavy (thanks!)
Poured a slightly darker golden body with a medium sized white head that went away at a medium pace. Strong fruity citrusy nose, sweet and nice. The taste is very agrumey, lime, lemon, really nice, solid hoppy bitterness, some fruity maltiness. Balanced and a quality IPA.

Tap. Amber with a white head. Aroma is pine/grassy with some citrus. Flavor is bitter with a lot of citrus and pine.Bitter finish.Iím not big on IPAís But this one is ok. Nothing special. my rating is low because of the fact I dislike IPAís, but itís pretty good for what it is. Nothing special though.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2011 Poured from bottle into Tulip. Semi-hazy orange with moderate head that dissipates a little too quickly. Some nice lacing. Relatively mild (for an IPA) floral and citrus hop smell, with some grainy malt. Smells more like a Pale Ale to me. Fairly grainy, slightly fruity malts with some citrus and pine hop taste. Bitterness at the end is relatively low for an IPA. However, there are some very strong pepper notes at the end that are a little distracting. Pretty high carbonation for an IPA, with a light to moderate body and dry finish. Not nearly as smooth as other IPAs I enjoy. Pretty light American/English hybrid IPA that is great drinking for a summer day.

(bottle - 12 oz) Amber pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma is very mild with some citrus and piney hints. Flavor is bitter with a lot of citrus notes. Some flowery notes come through at the end. Rather juicy and citrusy. Alright, but nothing special.

Pours dark gold with a thick off-white head. Nice tight lacing. The aroma is malty with weak resin and pine. A light tropical citrus comes out in the flavor which combines with a lot of malt and just mild bitterness. A decent beer but I expected a little better. The bottle is about 5 months old so perhaps itís just past itís prime.

6 pack from Richardís Grocery in Plattsburgh, NY. Born on 8/28/09. Aroma is very pleasant with hints of pine and some slight citrus. Definitely some C hops, and perhaps some simcoe. Lightly husky. Transparent copper color with a strong white head that leaves good lacing. Spicy, peppery, and herbal hop flavors to start. Some pale malts and a little earthiness is in the middle. Finishes with a little sweetness. A bit metallic, too. A very serviceable, and clean IPA.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2009 Not as strong or dry as other IPAs. The hops do not give off as much aroma as Sierria Nevada PA or IPA. It is a good beer to drink anytime. A bit above average but not great.
