COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2005 Visually stunning. Yellow/ orange sunburst appearence with lots of clarity. Fluffy white head, large! Smells nicely of pine. Tastes like pine and some citrus maybe lemon. I could see myself having a couple of these. Flavorful, yet still drinkable. I have yet to have anything but exceptional from Goose Island.

This is a very solid IPA on the upper end of the hopping chart, Nice tangy citrus twang going on that kind of keeps thing a bit more interesting than many IPA’s. As I look at the other reviews I think it is also a light pine character that I couldn’t place that works very well.

Pour is nice warming amber with a thin soapy off white head...smell is some pine but grapefruit everywhere...taste is not overpoweringly bitter but a nice spicey fruity flavor is imparted...finish is quick with a nice sweet lemon note...this is one of the better IPAs I’ve had...abundant hop presence, but not all bittering....

Had it for the first time yesterday, on tap at dba in NYC. One of the better IPAs I’ve had...more hops, less malt than most IPAs...just the way I like it.

Excellent grassy aroma. This IPA hits the tongue with a hoppy, pale-ale mouthfeel and leaves behind a malty, mildly roasted quality as the sharpness fades. This is one of our favorite session beers. Goes well with a campfire and your favorite music du jour. Bottle after bottle, we rely on the consistency of this truely delightful brew.

12 oz bottle. Hazy rich golden colour. Thin white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, light sweet fruity hop nose. Spicy and citrusy with a touch of pine as well. Beautiful orange/grapefruit flavour mixed with some soft spiciness as well. Well-balanced and very tasty IPA.

Standard IPA. Amber color with a medium whtite head. Smells hoppy and piney. Taste is standard some hops with slight malt notes. Short hoppy aftertaste. Fine but nothing to write home about.

Tap at Holy Grail in Cincinnati. This was just listed as Goose Island, with pale ale in parentheses. But, since the rest of the selection there was mostly BMC, I’m guessing they meant it was this one. (If anyone knows for sure, please correct me if I’m wrong) Poured clear and golden with a short head. Good aroma of grassy hops and citrus fruit. Flavor and mouthfeel were pretty well balanced and complex. Tons of dry-hopped goodness along with lemon and orange citrus, a tiny bit of malty sweetness and a little oakiness thrown in for good measure. Goes down dry and crisp. Overall, very good.

I forgot to inventory this so in turn I have forgotten who sent it to me. Thank you, whoever you are. Poured an effervescent golden with a fizzy white head that dissipated completely. Aroma of clean hops and a touch of citrus. Taste is light and hoppy with some lemon. Not much of a malt backbone to this one, just refreshing hops. Body is average and well-carbonated. Although this felt a little watered down to me, it was tasty and clean.
