COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop loverís dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one youíll remember.

Nice copper color with thick creamy compact white head. Aroma is decidely hoppy. Nice citrus hop aroma and hop sweetness with a hint of malt. Clean hop flavor. Sweetness from a hop side, and malt also. Lightness in presence, nice feel. Strong hop finish. Roasted malt warmth is also present. Citrus sits on palate and doesnít sour or get heavy. Nice beer.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2009 golden amber color nice hop aroma, fruity, apple maybe?? good hoppiness well balanced, delightful (9-20-2005) re-rate(1-17 2009) pungent hoppy aroma comming from what i conjecture to be fuggle or willamette aroma/dry hops. a little underlying grapefruit citrus, but mostly just nice english dirty spicy hop flavor and smell. I should get this more often. finish is dry, but not too dry. the malt plays a supporting role, but is not forgotten. there is just enough to give a little chew and contemplation before pounding the rest of this quenching elixir.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Cloudy light amber colour with a small, creamy head. Very lovely hoppy aroma. Distinct fruity notes, citrus - perhaps grapefruit? Malty with notes of caramel. Marked bitter finish. Very nice and typical American IPA. 160905

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2008 Bottle. Tested on Best before-date. A golden/copper beer with a nice white head. Gorgeous grapefruity aroma with hints of pine resin. The taste is balanced, but a little thin to my preference, with a long light bitter aftertaste. Nice mouthfeel. Rating: 8-4-7-3-15-3.7(050913)

Bottle. Since my first sample of this beer, September 2005, Iíve had it on several occasions, but as it seems it will disappear from the Norwegian market, I had to give it one more try. Itís a refreshing and fruity beer with a nice hop profile, and itís far from extreme, making it rather drinkable. It pours a nice, orange-golden body with a rather small off-white head leaving some fine curtains of foam on the glass. Itís aroma is dominated by citrusy hops, with pine and resin as well. The maltyness is quite subdued, but sweetness and a bready note is detectable in the background. Flavorwise itís much the same, the fruity hops with itís pine and resin do most of the job, but the bready, sweet maltyness is doing its part as well. Quite full-bodied it is, and a bit sticky on the palate. In the finish, the malty flavors is even more subdued, leaving more room for bitterness, and of course thereís a lot of fruits, pine and resin too. Itís still a yummy beer, I sure hope it donít disappear from the already starved Norwegian market. (080214)

Dominating hop aroma. Tea colored with a thumb thick white head. Ample hop presence, but flavor wise it is mostly just a bitter affair. Very resin tinged aftertatse. The kind of resin associated with hopís cousin cannabis.

Sampled from bottle. Pours a slightly hazy copper-gold with a lasting, off-white head and remarkable lacing. Aroma is wonderfully hoppy: floral an grapefruit. Flavor is one-dimensionl as the hops (floral/pine resin) create such an astringency to obscure almost all of the malt profile. Medium-bodied and nicely carbonated. Wonderfully bitter IPA that would be much better if some of the flavor addition hops were removed (aroma and bittering addions are wonderfully done).

Had this a while ago. From the bottle, so not the best case, but very nicely hopped. Very enjoyable for a hophead. Not much else going on here, but thats okay with me.
