Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

12 oz bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival 2008. Copper orange color with creamy head. Sweet aroma with strong hoppy tropical fruit scent featuring mango, apricot and lemon. The flavor is hoppy and firmly bitter with tropical fruits and hints of honey. Soft and very drinkable, excellent.

Bottle into Tulip. Good but not spectacular aroma, good color and lacing throughout. Medium-bodied; citrus & piney notes. An above average India Pale Ale. Good bitter finish and very enjoyable. One plus is it is the only IPA at our WM Supercenter, so Cheers to that when I need an IPA fix and am among the masses!

Bottle. Bottled on date: 01/02/09. Pours a hazy amber with a smallish light-tan head. Predominantly grapefruity aroma with some hints of caramel. Medium-bodied with above-average carbonation. Fair balance with some caramel biscuitiness upfront. Finishes with lots of piney, spicy grapefruity dryness. Fairly harsh at the end. A solid IPA.

Overall a very nice IPA. Good hop character on the nose. Nice malty citrusy palate. Low to medium dryness, less attenuated than most of this style.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2009 Golden hazy hue. One finger of quickly dissipating head. Very small bubble lace that is also quick to disappear. Nice steady lemony hops aroma with some citrus in both the taste and aroma. Creamy medium body mouthfeel. Nice sweet maltiness to balance the hops. Very steady avg IPA. May be a good session beer

Bottle from The City Beverage Co, Old Street. Pours amber with a small white head. Nicely balanced bittersweetness, a touch of fruit and a dry hoppy finish. This is the kind of beer I could keep a stock of, extremely drinkable and great with a variety of foods. In all honesty, it prolly would’ve scored higher if I hadn’t had so many double IPA’s as of late.
