Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

Amber body, frothy tan head. Aroma is nice and spicy, very citrusy and hoppy. Flavor is doughy and sweet, with a nice balance of peppery hops and bready malts. Dry finish. Good!

An amber color. A pine aroma with floral hints. Nicely hopped but not overly bitter. Has a medium body.

Bottled @ GBBF 2005: Golden coloured. Clear. Beige dense head. Herbal and chocolatish aroma. Flavour is very "american". Hoppy flavour like herbs, flowers, grains and some light spices. Is bitter and fruity in the end, and has a good lasting on the palate. Good one.

Plain, light orange body, barely a head at all. The aroma is delicately hopped, slightly fruity and earlthy. The flavor is a little weak, but its a nice balance of hops, malts and herbal notes. Finishes thin, but pleasantly.

I was just in the midwest and, since this brewery was so ubiquitous, I pretty much passed it by for the more obscure beers - now that I can get it in NY, I figured I would give it a shot - I’m kind of sorry I didn’t get some more of their beer when I had the chance - strawberry blonde color with minimal head - aroma of pine, grapefruit and cedar chips - crisp and quite balanced - not very "heavy duty" compared to a lot of other IPAs, but it is a damn fine product.

This one is so common to my area that I think it often gets overlooked. Goose Island brews a damn fine IPA. It may not get the attention of a stone of Dogfish Head, and this may be justified, but, it is very close to the elite IPAs and it is relatively inexpensive and always available. It pours amber and pretty clear, has good hop aroma, and very good flavor, and a very good dry finish. Overall-very solid, a GREAT session beer!

This beer pours a medium amber color with a clean enveloping pearlish head with a nice amount of lacing. The aroma is not overbearing, but releasing the cap yielded a few seconds of overwhelming hops and citrus. Definitely an earthy, woody, citrusy aroma to this though it is of course mostly hops. This is full flavored, though it really settles as it warms. The same could be said for the carbonation which is prickling when cold but soothes when warmed up. Malty mid-sip followed by bitter hoppy citrusyness, then the typically malty, sticky, tangy finish. Some bits of wood and fruits...solid but not overly dry. A fun session beer.

Tap: Super light. Really hoppy. Kind of a cannabis tinged nose and flavor. Crisp. Balanced out with yeast, and faint malts. However, a very short finish. Solid IPA. Some of the fruity, perfume flavors get lost along the way.

Bottled. Deep golden colour, with a fine white head. Nose of yeast, fruit and hops. Malty, hoppy flavor, but to watery. could need more spices and hops. This was a dissapointment...
