Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

I found this IPA to be very....average. It smelled a bit hoppy, but the taste was a not very exciting balance of hops and more maltiness than I expected. Still, this isn’t really a flavor-packed IPA, and maybe more extreme IPAs, APAs, and DIPAs have made too cynical for this beer. Yet, it also didn’t seem to be an "English-style" IPA/bitter. I also found it to be a bit watery in mouthfeel. Not quite sure what drawer to put this beer in in my mind, which combined with uninspiring messages from my taste buds left me feeling a bit unsatisfied.

Bottle courtesy of Piscator34: Poured a deep hazy beige color ale with a nice foamy head and good retention. Aroma of bitter and floral hops is dominating and quite enjoyable. Taste is a nice mix between some caramel malt with some floral hops and a medium bitter finish. Good carbonation with full body and well balance for the style.

Pours a golden yellow color with a small white head. Nice caramel malt and citrus hop aromas. Nice bitter grapefruit/citrus hop bite and nice bitter finish. Nicely balanced.

Slight hazy iced tea color. Had a creamy almost yellow head initially but it fades rapidly. Barely any aroma, quite surprising for an IPA. Usually they let you know they are IPA with their pine or floral hop smell. If I smell hard enough there is a some clean orange hoppiness about it. Initial taste is strongish APA or mild IPA. Some odd fruitiness with each taste. What can I say about a style that has become so numerous? Bitter medicinal finish. As expected for this harsh ill mannered style. I’m the wrong guy to look to if you want to build IPA ratings. Let me tell you, I wasn’t excited about this when I was given a bottle. Will not acquire again.

On tap at Goose Island Clybourne. This blonde ale poured with a modest off-white head, eliciting a flowery hop aroma. It is nicely hopped with a slightly sweet body and a slightly bitter finish. This is a very tasty IPA.

[bottle] Massive US hops aroma--bitter grapefruit--, which eventually gives way to some spicy, toffee-ish malt. Hazy coppyer with a white cover that quckly drops to almost nothing. The flavour is spicy melanoidins and toffee malt buffeted by big hops that sort of disappears into an empty void. A little sweetness peeks its head out just before the anticipated body and bitterness never arrive. Too thin a body, moderate carbonation, dry-ish finish that makes this beer out of balance.

Pours very nicely with a golden finish. The aroma is great with a hoppy taste which makes this IPA a must have

Pours a golden color. Aroma is very piney with a hint of citus. Very bitter up front, carbonated, and hoppy. The palate is slightly malty and nutty. A bit too bitter for my tastes but still done well.

The first thing that grabbed me was the aroma. The heady, unmistakable IPA aroma just knocked me out.... in a good way. Then I tasted it. Wow.
