3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 5, 2004 Shiny gold body with a soapy/fizzy white head. Light orange citrus hops aroma with some strawberry. May need to be fresher for better aroma. Flavor is also light... again, a sweet orange-light hops. The flavor is really good, but not earth shattering or powerful.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled. Says its bottle conditioned but it doesnít appear to be. Herbal hop aroma/flavour... high bitterness. Pretty good, not great.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Mostly lasting white head with good lacing throning over a clear honey body. Supposedly bottle-conditioned. Aroma develops distinct orange peel and honey resembling malt. Not too complex, but obviously balanced. Slightly tart, spicy and dry palate with plenty of fresh orange and a bit of pepper. Light-medium body, quite creamy with lively carbonation. Very typical IPA, you like the style or you donít, but this one is certainly gonna be nobodyís favorite. Itís just an unpretentious straightforward easy-going american india pale ale, just how many of these do we need though?

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
nice golden color, not as dark as some pales, but nice color nonetheless. Full head, lots of CO2. Aroma is hopped pleasantly with a distinct sweetness that shows the strong malt character. Now to taste: very hoppy with a good amount of malt taste, though not the sweetness that the aroma suggests. a bit much CO2, though. I do enjoy the nice complexities of the malt interacting with the hops. another solid brew from my hometown brewery.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Straw yellow, huge hop aroma, no malt. Taste hop bitterness and alcohol, with very little malt sweetness. Too much bitterness without any balance. Acidic bite from too much CO2. Don't care too much for this one.

I always make sure to have a few of these when I'm at the brewery in Chicago. Decent hop content.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
This was an ok IPA. It could be well improved with a little more hops. Overall, pale with a mild flavor. Drunk with other styles of beer, seems nice. Does not stand up as well to other IPAs though.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Honey gold. Fresh and hoppy aroma. the taste is pleasantly tart and dry; very good as opposed to excellent. Head not particularly well retained.

Very good IPA. Not my favorite but tastes good and satifying. Nice head out of bottle. Hoppy flavor. Goose Island makes a fine product.

12oz Bottle best By 08/24/04 Thanks to EddieG for this bonus Brew! Poured a clear dark gold with a bit of a head that died quickly. Has a nice hoppy doughy aroma. Slightly floral and citric. Smooth body and crisp with a bitter finish. Flavor could be better. Decent hoppiness and backed up by a good dose of malt. Reminds me a bit of Brutal Bitter in a way. Overall a decent IPA.
