3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Citrus hoppy, lemon, orange. The hops do not jump out at ya, they are mild but this is rather smooth and drinkable. Nice session ale.

My favorite out of the bottle although tasted at Clyborn Brewpub. Goilden with a heavy white head. English malt is very pronounced and nicely paired with american hops (goldings and centenials perhaps). Fairly bitter with a floral and pine nose. I like this IPA

Bottle: Deep gold in color with a white head. The aroma and flavor really did not impress. The flavor just did not develop in the way I like. I love IPAs, I like Goose Island, but I don't like the Goose Island IPA. I'm glad I tried it, but I'm more glad that I got a single.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice earthy hop aroma. Not the citrusy, grapefruity, Cascade aroma that is oh so common in American IPA's. Good deep golden color. Light carbonation and a pillowy white head. Sturdy malt base, earthy hop flavor. I think this is a nice balanced beer. An English style IPA, not American. It won't blow your head off with hops, but that's nice once and a while! Well done!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2005 UPDATE 2/1/05: best when consumed by 042405 1244 / what? aroma of grapefruit and a bit of sweaty laundry. head that is very airy and diminishes into nothing in a pace that is too fast. palate seems less active than usual; perhaps a bit flat. bubblegum sweetness, with dry pine and juicy grapefruit hops. i’ve had much better bottles. downrated. UPDATE 3/12/05: best when consumed by 042405 1044 / snifter / awesome! a great bottle! the nose reminded me of Three Floyd’s Gumballhead, and so does the flavor. the body is a hazy amber with a white and tight head that diminishes while leaving lace, and then a nice thick ring around the glass is left. primarily bubblegum, pine, and grapefruit; crisp and smooth, not flat at all; sweet, bitter, then dry, then sweet again because i took another sip; not without a great punch this time around! i uprated all scores because this is what it truly is out of the bottle.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reddish Brown, with a thick, uniform white head. Grapeftuit and raw hop aroma. Bitter, fruity, earthy hops right up front. Not balanced, but doesn't need to be. I like it.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle pours a slightly hazy light amber with a decent head and some lace. The aroma was hoppy and slightly malty. The flavor left me wanting more from an IPA, not hoppy enough and an off flavor in the malt backbone that I can't seem to pinpoint. The palate was fine, but the flavor threw me. I won't bother again...

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours slightly cloudy, yellow-amber with a small off white head. Aroma is nice, lots of floral hops, citrus and a hint of maple syrup in the sweet roasted malts. Flavor starts out with mild sweet malts before being overrun with the bold hops and a lingering nutty flavor. Medium body and smooth with perfect carbonation. Really nice IPA - thanks Marinaro500.

GABF 2003: Clear gold color with a large white head. Pine aroma, with a full body. Ends fairly bitter without much fanfare.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Somewhat grain-flavored, vegatables aroma mixed with pale hops and oranges. Good palate scouring, but lacks the IPA kick I expect. Can be bland and stale at times.
