COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

This is a very good IPA and at a reasonably good value. I appreciate the lingering bitterness of the hops. There’s plenty of tang to go around just as you’d expect. Good malty body is there but you have to get past the hops to find it...just as it should be with an IPA. What I really like about this IPA is that is readily available at a lot of retail outlets.

One of the best IPAs around. Not nasty or over the top like some. Very smooth and highly quaffable with BBQ chips.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2007 Bottle from ford9719. Dark golden with huge frothy white head. Great lacing. Aroma rather bland, standard ipa. Malt dominates, less hoppier than I expected. Flavor again huge caramel malt sweetness and only the faintest pine resin in the finish. Third time around for this beer, and I always expect more for some reason.

A very good IPA, nice mixture of hops and malt. It has a very lite fruit hint along with that hop bite which goes together nicely.

A good brew, and for an ipa it is farly smooth.Nice citris nose, and taste. Nothing metalic,or off putting about this brew.

Bottle. Medium amber color. Fast fading white head. Some lacing. Flowery aroma with malt. Body is medium with a decent mouthfeel. Malty taste with a decent hop backing. A nice IPA.

Dark gold color with small head. Bitter hops aroma. Kind of a flowery and bitter taste. It is not so overabundant on hops as to make you sick. A tasty IPA.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2004 Bottle: Aroma is hoppy with grapefruit and pine. Pours a light transparent amber with a small white head with little retention. Nice balance of malts and hops. LIghtly sweet initial taste with a grapefruit and pine aftertaste. Strong orange presence. Little more hops would improve the beer but overall a nice IPA.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2006 Poured a orange-yellow with small rocky head. Nice floral aroma. The flavor is dry, yet sweet at the same time, with a nicely balanced citric hop edge and sharp orange-rind finish. Yummy. One of my everday beers ...

Not a bad IPA, but, once again, the Goose Island folk are being overly cautious. It pours a dark golden color with a one-fingered head that settles down pretty quickly. Nice bitter, earthy hop aroma. I don’t catch the "fruity aroma" described in their ad. Dry & bitter, but not real flavorful like American IPAs have been lately. A decent drink... Thank goodness, ’cause I have five to go.
