COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

Bottle, 355 ml. Pours a pale, cloudy amber with around half a finger of soapy white head. Lacing is quite thick. Aroma of pine resin and floral hops, lemon, honey, apricot, pineapple with a backdrop of caramel malts. Malts are more present in the taste, being of a bready or yeasty nature, perhaps even with a tiny bit of cheese, though the notes of honey, citrus, pineapple and hoppy bitterness are still coming through in full force. Body is a good medium and carbonation is moderate, making for a smooth feel in the mouth. Could be a little sharper and hoppier, but other than that does everything a fine IPA should.

UXO (148) - CANADA - JUN 2, 2014
(On tap) Pours a clear light gold with one finger of fluffy head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, moderate lacing. Nose is bright pine and citrus hops against toasty biscuit malt. Taste follows suit, with grapefruit hops followed by mild malt and finishing with a lingering bitterness. Mouth feel is light- to medium-bodied, with low carbonation and an off-dry bitter finish. Not bad at all. A fairly straightforward IPA, but not at all unpleasant. Easy drinking, with a pleasantly crisp texture and a decent hop profile.

Pours a orange golden color with no cloudiness and 2-3 cm of head. Heavy on the hops, grapefruit, nice mouthfeel. Medium alcohol content makes it a very good sessionable beer. Solid but not amazing.

Pours a clear golden color with white head. Hops on the front and the back end. A typical IPA.

What to say. Straight forward IPA, very friendly but authentic. Not particularly hoppy, helping create a dry finishing beer.

Deep golden pour with white head. Aroma of sweet melon, grapefruit, cereals. Flavour is the same, with decent bready malt backing. Not overly bitter, but flavourful.

355ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Medium off-white head, medium lacing. Hazy orange/amber body. Aroma is mostly malty. Grapefruit. Slightly grassy, pretty light for an IPA. Light bitterness on the tongue. Fruity, perhaps a bit boring.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped 03JAN14-BF51. So this is a few months later. Still it looks nice with its medium copper-amber pour and long lasting off-white head. The hops in the aroma are somewhat muted and the toasted biscuit malts are more forward. But that is not to say I am not getting hops at all. The body is Light to medium. The floral hops express themselves more in the taste than on the nose making this a nicely balanced hops to malts IPA.

12 oz bottle. Golden pour with a white head. Super hoppy from start to finish. Hard to taste much over the bitter. Not one I would try again.
