COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

Bottle at Hertog Jan brewery. Pours an orange unclear beer with a good white head. Smells fruity, sweet fruits, tropical. Tastes bitter, bit flat and muf. Average carbo, thin body and a dry texture.

On tap at Solas, NYC. Pours golden pale typical IPA color. Aroma is hops, and citrus, well balanced by malt backbone. Fairly typical IPA aroma. Flavor is similar. Good balance of hops and malt. Doesn’t overdo it with hops like many IPAs. This is an excellent and moreover well-balanced example of the style. It’s very enjoyable to drink and it’s good. I’d drink it with no qualms any day. But it is not exceptional.

12 oz bottle. Pours deep golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head, nice lacing and lively carbonation. Aroma is of citrusy, piney, herbal hops and caramel malt and some fruit. Body is medium and crisp. Earthy, herbal hops, caramel and biscuit malt and ripe fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long, dry and earthy. Good English style, drinkable IPA.

Poured from 12 oz bottle (bottled on Jan 8, 2015) into schooner glass. Appearance: pours a 1" pillowy head that falls slowly with some mild lacing. Color is mostly clear deep gold. Abundant streaming carbonation. Aroma: fairly for the style, pleasant citrus and pine, nice biscuit malt. Mouthfeel: fairly light, very carbonated and frothy with a quite dry finish. Flavor: citrus elements are stronger than in the aroma. The biscuit is in the background. Also pick up some earthy bitter hops and hop oil in the finish. Overall: very good, but a bit too aggressive and lacking the subtle and balanced flavors of the milder English IPA style.

Appearance is light orangey golden, a bit of haze, a half finger solid white fizzy head. Aroma- fresh hops, pineapple, some malt notes, pine, orange. Taste- bitter hops, quite a bit of creamy malt, tangerine, hops, medium to full mouthfeel, long-lasting bitter finish, which becomes biscuity. Tasty.
