4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The beer has a beautiful amber color and a head as white as snow. It has the typical IPA features. The beer has a delicious citrusy hop smell. The fresh lemon zest is accompanied by a herbal hint. The taste is just as refreshing as the smell. It also has the distinct IPA taste, those citrusy hop flavors in combination with a tingling bitterness. The fizzly beer tingles the tongue anyway. The finish is delicious. It contains the IPA bitterness and at the beginning of the finish there are the sour hops. Nice.

Yellow-amber colored with a thick off-white head. Lots of citrus in the nose. Grapefruit twinged bitterness is accompanied by a toasted malt and caramel. A nicely balanced IPA, but it won’t be your cup of tea if you are looking for a West Coast hop-bomb.

Not too hoppy at all for an American IPA. Well-balanced taste with subtle falvours of orange and copper. Very drinkable but not overly exciting.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2005 A good answer to the question, ’What do hops taste like?’. Piney, grassy, citrusy, the aroma is the best part of this beer. Flavor is all hops without much else to get in the way. Will satisfy any hop craving.

2015/09/08 - Pours a clear copper colour with frothy, off white head that quickly reduces. Aroma is rather malt forward; floral hops, bread, citrus, caramel, biscuit and mild pine. Taste is a little more balanced, but still slightly malt forward; cracker, caramel, citrus and light floral notes. Mouthfeel is medium and slightly sticky with slightly biting carbonation and a dry, crisp finish. A little bland, but still rather drinkable.

Floral aroma with a mild, spicy, hop taste. Deliberately not extravagant (I suspect!), just a nice, classic IPA.

Very good IPA. Not my favorite but tastes good and satifying. Nice head out of bottle. Hoppy flavor. Goose Island makes a fine product.

Golden honey color with a bit of a head that left some lacing on my Stella Artois tulip glass. Citrusy aroma. Nice balance of hops and malt. nothing overpowering, just a solid IPA.
