Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop loverís dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one youíll remember.

Tasted from draft. Pours a clear gold with fluffy white head. Aroma is citrus fruit with some pine and a little bready malt sweet smell. Taste is very well balanced. Moderate clean bitterness throughout with a nice mild sweet malt backbone. Citrus, caramel, pine, biscuits, grass flavors. Very solid IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle poured in a tulip. The beer pours a clear golden orange with a thin whirte head and little lacing. Aroma is subdued but I pick up citrus, pine, and caramel. Flavor is pine and citrus up front. It is met with a juicy tropical fruit flavor and caramel. Mouthfeel is juicy, quenching, and somewhat dry. Tasty and sessionable.

This beer pours a dark orange color with a pretty nice sized white head. Lacing around the glass sticks nicely and doesnít fade to fast. Smell of citrus and hops sticks out. Flavor of hops and malts. Slightly bitter but very good.

Draught. At Sharp Edge in East Liberty, Pittsburgh, PA. Brought home a growler. Nice brew. Pours dark golden with nice head and great carbonation. Itís fun to drink out of the growler on the way home.... I wasnít driving! Great roasted hoppy taste (I donít know what the hop is other than Cascade, but itís used in 90 minute from Dogfish Head as well). Nice body, nice carb, great balanced flavor. Very nice stuff!

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2007 April 7, 2006; 12 oz. bottle. Cloudy orange pour; what little head dissipates quickly. Sparse lacing. Citrus aroma with notes of malt. The long-lasting dry bitterness on this one garnered an extra "palate" point, although the finish is a tad thinner than my favorites of the style. Pretty decent IPA.

Re-rate on July 3, 2007: Exceedingly well-balanced, with a welcome malt bias. A winner.

Bottle. Muddy yellow brown body. Small white head. Sweet hoppy aroma, much fruit. Strong fresh fruity flavour. Well-balanced bitterness. Medium bitter finish. (Lorry, Oslo, 07.07.08)

Reddish-amber with a somewhat thin off-white head. Nice citrusy aroma and taste, with a decent bitter hop finish. Not bad at all.

Aroma of grapefruit and pine. Very subtle hops with light hopping and a malty finish. I donít know why this is rated so high, and itís really solid in all areas but itís not that special.
