3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Iím no fan of IPAís. They are too hoppy. There are only one or two I can think of that are appealing to me. This one is hoppy, although I wonít hold it against the brewer. I can recognize a better than average IPA when I taste one. This one pours a light brown from the bottle. Good head retention and lacing. There is that distinct hop aroma that dominates the flavor as well. The palate is quite characteristic, but thatís why I gave it an average rating. As far as drinkability goes, well I wouldnít drink more than one or two at a time before I had to drink something else.

Very impressive IPA, excellent malty flavor with hop ballence crisp, almost tastes like a bitter, very well done.

a tad harsh for an ipa. has a very raw taste to it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A very good IPA, nice mixture of hops and malt. It has a very lite fruit hint along with that hop bite which goes together nicely.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Sweeneyís in Satin Paul, MN. Pours a clear orange with lots of pale yellow/gold swirling around, too; not much head and little lacing. It seemed too transparent, which, to me, is harbinger for a lack of robust flavor. Aroma is pretty faint -- just some vegetal hops. Carbonation is fine, but this beer is generally boring on the palate. Dominated by grassy, vegetal hops that lack any distinct characteristics. The malt was pretty absent, too, and the balance between bitterness, hoppiness, and sweetness was off. Mediocre, in my opinion.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is a pale ale. It is a pale orangish color, and it is an ale
Hops dominate the nose, but there is a more than ample malt backbone. Good medium mouthfeel, clean, hoppy follow through. Beer as it ought to be.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours medium amber with abundant white lacing. Nice floral and grapefruity aroma. The taste is a nice balance of citrus, hops, and malt. Medium body and not overly bitter. Final taste is warm grapefruit and nice malty sweetness. A most enjoyable IPA!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Had it for the first time yesterday, on tap at dba in NYC. One of the better IPAs Iíve had...more hops, less malt than most IPAs...just the way I like it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2012 Iíve just started getting into IPAís and Goose Island has been one of the most pleasant of the batch.
It was hoppy but not overly so and had a great aroma of citrus, honey and floral notes. Even a little bit of buttery smell.
Itís a pretty goldenish color and looks good in the glass. A nice white head formed and took a while to disappear.
The flavor matched the aroma and appearance perfectly with lost of floral and citrus notes. Maybe even a bit of kiwi and lemongrass. It wasnít overpowering in the bitterness and hops department which can be a turnoff for me. It seemed just right to me.
Another winner from Goose Island - my hometown brewery. I really like this for a spring to summer warm up beer and will be high on my list of beer to enjoy this summer along with Honkerís Ale.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
I first tried this at a live theater, on tap, from a plastic cup. I was pleasantly surprised. Next time from a bottle with a proper glass, deep golden, off white head. I like the strong hops. I have a friend bring me a 6pk whenever he visits from Naperville, IL.
