Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

Pours an bronzish, copper with a fluffy, pillowy white head. Very sticky lace. Nose is fresh grass, floral notes, mild lemon oils and citrus. Very crisp and clean flavor. Mild resiny pine and grapefruit pith, with a brown sugar sweetness. Oily with a fresh hoppy bite and a subtle malty backbone. Nicely palatable. Great session beer with obvious lower IBUs. Medium body. Nicely done.

FROM NOTES: November 22, ’13. A: A simple nose of citrus and pine hop aromas with light notes of Kiwi or other tropical fruit. A: Clear orange color with a one-finger head. T: Somewhat more subtle and watery than the nose suggests. The flavors are not as strong as I would have expected but it does have a nice pine and resin aftertaste, as you would want in an IPA. P: Light in body with a mildly dry texture and a soft carbonation. O: A decent IPA, but not quite bitter enough for an IPA but still tasty.

12 oz bottle. Golden pour with a white head. Super hoppy from start to finish. Hard to taste much over the bitter. Not one I would try again.

Tap, bottle, this is common in central Iowa. A velvety, medium full body, just the right touch on the palate. Hops are smooth, with an even balance between bitterness, flavor, and aroma. A fine IPA, and one I like to enjoy regularly.

12oz. bottle - pours lightly cloudy, pale gold with a bone white head. Aroma is typically citrusy for an American IPA, but with a dose of sweet malt as well. Smells balanced. Flavour...tastes balanced as well. Fresh orangey hops, caramel malt, some earthy notes, all leading towards a mildly bitter finish. Classic IPA, in the English character/tradition. Certainly not a US hop bomb. Finish is actually quite sweet, presumably coming from the malts. Nice stuff, very drinkable.

Bottle. Nice copper color with a fluffy white head that lasted and left a nice lacing. Wonderful hoppy aroma. Superb flavor of malt, with a touch of sweetness, dominated but, not overly so, by the floral hop flavor. Excellent mouthfeel makes this beer a keeper
