COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop loverís dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one youíll remember.

From bottle. Went in with strong reservations since Goose Island is now with the Evil Empire. Pour is attractive--rich gold with some nice white head. Nose is pleasant--grapefruit and gum. Citrus is constant in the taste; could use a bit more malt. 5.9% abv and 55 ibu for an ipa is pretty weak, but better than I was expecting overall. I can imagine pounding a few of these in Wrigleyville before a day game would be pretty nice.

This is a pretty basic English ipa from Chicago brewed in New York. Doesn't offer alot on the nose especially not hop rise... You have some hop bitterness but more maltiness than hop anything... Ok... Wish they'd still brew their flagships in Chicago...AB InBev u make me sad:(.... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours tangerine, with wispish head. Aromatic aroma, almost of perfume, of very sweetly spiced hops. Similar on the palate, with little carbonation, and the hoppiness more to the fore.

12 oz bottle. It pours a golden color with a small white head. It has the aromas of resin, a floral aroma and a slight spruce aroma. It has a resin flavor, a floral flavor and a little pine flavor with a pleasant hop bitterness, which isnít overwhelming. Overall this is a very nice beer. Iím glad I bought this one.

Goose Island delivers a reliably delicious IPA, milder hoppiness than others but very enjoyable. Pours a copper/ yellow orange color, just average appearance. Smell is fresh fruity hops and toasty caramel malt. Anticipates the taste which is likewise a well-balanced combination of slightly caramel maltiness and tropical and piney hoppiness. Very smooth, finishes with a pleasant hoppy aftertaste. Bitterness is light and refreshing, also reminiscent of English style ales. Very well done overall, recommended!
