COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop loverís dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one youíll remember.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2005 Very citrusy. Hoppy enough, I suppose, but finishes with a bit of a sweet taste that doesnít seem quite right. Also, the tail end of the hops flavor is capsicum-type spicy: burns the tongue a little. Not much in the way of appearance or mouthfeel. Re-rate 12/05: Didnít take detailed notes this time, but I did enjoy this much more than the first time I had it. Very fresh hoppy character and clean all around.

Slight hop aroma. Medium bodied. Not as hoppy as i would have expected but still enjoyable.

Nice ambery peachy colour. Big floral, fruity aroma. Taste matches aroma well, with good IPA flavours. Not as bitter as some better IPAs. Very smooth. Good finish and an ejoyable beer from a friend who brought this back from the brewery.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2006 Not a big fan of IPAís. Too much hop, which just peels the taste buds off my tongue. This has all the ingredients of an IPA, nice aroma, the necessary bite of hops, which all Goose Island beers have. One was enough. (2/2/2/1/8). re-rate; talk about a change in palate, I now consider this a session beer. Either my tongue has been burnt through or they changed the recipie as this is not nearly as bitter as I remember. In fact I was reminiscening with someone about the first time I tried this and how bitter it was and would like to re-live that experience again. Well not with this beer. Decent hop aroma and like their Honkers skewed toward the English style. Mildly bitter. An average example. Score reflects re-rate.

Although this is on the lighter end of IPA's, it did have a real refreshing "juicy" hop flavor - thickly citrus, with an easy drinking bitterness. File this under "lawn-mowin' beers"

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2007 nice aroma, good initial hop flavor. then turns dry and slightly sweet hiding hop flavor and the maltiness that I expected. finnished sweet slightly dry

Again, another great value from Goose Island. This IPA is far better than most macro-brewed concoctions. The appearence of the ale and the head are lovely. The first whiff is delectable. Taste is refreshing with an extraordinary balance of hop flavours. Try this!

Hazy, light-golden color. Kind of like a lighter bodied iced tea. Citrus nose. Quickly diminishing head. Small amount of carbonation. Fairly bitter flavor, hoppy. Again, with citrus. Pretty good representation of the style.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2003 Love the hops! Big foam. I'm actually commenting on the nitro draft version, served at the original GI. The bottled version sort of wimps out but's still good. ************ Just had one on tap at the Goose and it's a changed beer. Golden, not a dark copper color as before, no nitro blend, just CO2 and it's lost a lot of the hop bite and fruitiness.

Light orange color, white head, good lacing. Aroma of beef stew simmering on the stove. Nice, mildly hopped brew. Not too bitter and worth buying again.
