Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

Hop aroma, flavor and bitterness comes out of this beer and slaps you in the face! The brewery uses Cascade and Fuggles and I think the Fuggles really come through in the aroma well! This beer is closer to a English IPA than an American one, well crafted and clean. Malt flavors in the background balance out the huge hop bill. If you are a hophead this is the beer for you.

A wonderful IPA. Pronounced floral hops with distinctive lemon character. Bittering just shy of too much. Very refreshing with a finish that reminds me of Earl Gray tea.

Almost the perfect IPA. Great dark gold color. Very smooth. The hoppiness is distinct but smooth. The aroma isn't bold, but this is overcome by the great finish and overall taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This fine ale poured with a foamy, thick head. Smells of malty biscuity stuff. The hops aren’t overwhelming and the malt in the background kinda keeps the hops in check. I like the combo malt/hops in this beer and would definitely buy it again. Honk, honk...the goose is loose!

This is a very good IPA. Extremely well balanced between bitterness and taste. The aftertaste of this beer is delicious as well. I usually go back and forth between this beer and Dogfish Head 90 Minute in a night.

Delicious, hoppy, sweet, smooth finish. Really a lot more than I was expecting based on the bottle!

Goose Island India Pale Ale is a pleasant and tasty IPA. Amber coloring with a decent head giving off floral aroma. Taste is floral and tropical with a low bitter finish. Nicely balanced with the malt. Goose Island IPA is everything it is quacked up to be.

During a time when IIPAs and IIIPAs are becoming more and more the norm rather than the exception, it is nice to see a beer that stays true to the English IPA style. Pours a very light copper, somewhat brilliant with golden highlights, good head with decent retention and fine lacing. There’s a distinct fruitiness that jumps out in the aroma which is slightly floral with a very light dose of citrus. There’s also a slight ester from the malt that comes across as biscuit and light tobacco. It tastes lightly sweet which quickly dissipates into a moderately dry finish. Very satisfying and drinkable. They’ve kept the body light enough to enjoy more than one pint. There’s a chewy malt and fruity yeast characteristic which is unmistakably English. A beautiful beer and a classic example of the style.
