mikeben (335), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jul 1, 2007 Updated: Aug 27, 2007 I don’t go for this style of beer. I like things a little on smoother side. While this is a well crafted beer I just don’t care for many Pale Ale’s
Grapefruit notes for sure.
cblado (90), Wisconsin, USA Oct 16, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice goldenrod color, nice pearly head with good lacing. Aroma is a bitter hops, some spices. Flavor is hoppy, and ends on a musty note with currants. All in all it’s an okay IPA, not quite enough flavor for me, however. Jmichael (584), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Oct 13, 2008 good full bodied pour with full white head, full smooth palate, light citurs backgrounds and mild bitterness RudeLead (7), Oslo, Norway does not count Oct 11, 2008 Pours slightly hazy, wonderful golden colour. Medium, but enduring head. Resin, stonefruits (peach, dried apricots), pale malt and hints of honey and spice on the nose. Quite good gypseous mouthfeel. Aroma in the mouth follows the nose with a pleasant, mellow bitter finish and well balanced discreet malt sweetness. Quite long. Overall a very well composed, delicate, elegant and drinkable IPA. malrubius (461), USA Oct 4, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Pale yellow gold with lasting head and lace. Fresh citrus hop aroma. Very mild honey sweetness (even warmed up) almost nil fruitiness, followed by a bracing hop bitterness and dry finish. Somewhat out of balance, but I like hops like the next guy. Medium body and somewhat medium high carbo add a little unnecessary bite. Not bad. And a rarity for Long Island, it’s fresh. Extra points for readable date code. CaryTheDude (300), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Oct 1, 2008 Decent IPA. Very nice balance of sweet and bitter with a lingering bitter finish. It’s no Two Hearted, but it’s one I’d get again.
