COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in cabernet barrels with blackberries, Juliet is a tart, fruity, complex ale. Notes of wood, tannin, dark fruit and spice make Juliet an ideal beer to suggest to Pinot Noir enthusiasts and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian sour ales.

Pours attractive deep and clear ruddy brown. Nose is tart and slight oak. A bit of berry in the flavor with the funk and barrel influence. A bit single faceted. Not much of a barrel influenced finish either.

Bottle 65cl. @ post Borefts BF 09 hotel tasting
Unclear medium orange amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sour berry, dark berry, wood notes. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy acidic with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20091031]

2009 Bottle - Thanks for popping this Toby! - Pours a ruddy orange with a medium white head...aroma is cherry and lemon, oaky, phenolic...flavour is bone dry, lactic red fruit, more lemon...more reminiscent of a belgian lambic than a sour, to me at least...finish is tannic and tasty...

Bomber, shared. Pours what looks like a ruby red in the low light of the bar (could be wrong, maybe it’s lighter), with a small head. Aroma is largely wild yeast with a bit of sour cherry and light fruit detectable as well. Taste is fruit and citrus up front, with a vinious characteristic, and the beer has a wonderful sour/tart finish. It remains clean, it does not get overwhelmed by any of the flavors, and the alcohol is well-hidden. I thoroughly enjoyed this beer; another winner from Goose Island.

2009 Bottle - thanks to Toby. Pours an orange amber with a thin beige head. Aroma is sour and tart with fruity notes and oak. Dry, lingering vinous and oaky tart taste. Very rich and puckering. Has gueuze similarities... Delicious!

Bottle at post Borefts BF 09 tasting. Pink/orange with a beige head. Lovely sour fruit, cherries and framboise. Good sourness in mouth, lovely. It’s good, right level of sourness. Lovely fruit. Gorgeous, and I want more.

Bottle shared by ucusty. Thanks Dave! This was okay, but a bit of a letdown after the Hansenns Cassis that preceded it. Tasted some raspberry, cranberry, other dark fruits, tannins. Mild tartness, but it couldn’t keep up with the authentic belgian lambic. Not bad, though.

Bright, brazen orange. Cloudy. Aroma is lightly funky, with cheeses and salts foremost, fruit beneath, and minerals and sugars at the end. Complex and lucid.

Very tart and pleasant flavor; pineapple, cayenne pepper; intense, but calm. Firm yeast textures in breads and brown spices; dark fruits, oak, vinegar; tons of different sensations, all of which are positive, distinct and softly put forward.

Bright, toned palate; brisk and light, but full bodied. Some vinegar and pit fruit flavors nearing the finish. Really masterfully done, and so understated, i loved it. Thanks Ty!
