Bottle shared by ucusty. Thanks Dave! This was okay, but a bit of a letdown after the Hansenns Cassis that preceded it. Tasted some raspberry, cranberry, other dark fruits, tannins. Mild tartness, but it couldn’t keep up with the authentic belgian lambic. Not bad, though.

Bright, brazen orange. Cloudy. Aroma is lightly funky, with cheeses and salts foremost, fruit beneath, and minerals and sugars at the end. Complex and lucid.

Very tart and pleasant flavor; pineapple, cayenne pepper; intense, but calm. Firm yeast textures in breads and brown spices; dark fruits, oak, vinegar; tons of different sensations, all of which are positive, distinct and softly put forward.

Bright, toned palate; brisk and light, but full bodied. Some vinegar and pit fruit flavors nearing the finish. Really masterfully done, and so understated, i loved it. Thanks Ty!

Not super tart, just lightly tart and funky. Reminds me of Orval a bit. I bit of woodiness comes through. Pretty nice.

Thanks ucusty for sharing. Pours a murky deep pink with a one finger frothy dirty white head. The nose is lactic and fruity, some cherry skin tartness, wood, phenol. Flavor is tart, not a lot of character here, fruity, cherry skins. Palate is mildly tart.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2011 Poured from bottle into wine glass. Slightly hazy orangish-pink with a light pinkish head that foamed up excessively at first but settled back, leaving some light lacing behind. Very tart aroma with a strong fruitiness, especially apple and blackberry, but some clove and earthiness comes through as well. Slight alcohol detected. Tart fruity malts with pepper and only a slight blackberry taste, at least at first. As I made my way through the bomber it opened up and became more complex, and the blackberry, oak and wine-like characteristics became more noticeable. High carbonation, with a light body and dry-tart finish. Feels spritzy when first poured but turns smoother as some time passes. Very drinkable sour ale that is a little more simple and approachable than many others. Quite excellent.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2012 Bottle… October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown! This beer rocks!... Hazy orange ale with a pink slant and a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. The aroma is fruity, earthy and both acidic and acetic with additional notes of berries, vanilla, biscuit and woody funk. Medium-bodied with a sticky mouthfeel and relaxed carbonation. Sour, fruity flavor with a strong suggestion of wood and a subtle afterthought of rye. Sour, tart, and then dry finish. Kudos to SoLan for sharing this bottle of world class beer!

October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown, courtesy of Solan. Pours amber, beige head. Aroma and flavor. plenty of good sourness, hints of fruits; on the cherry side adding a wine like palate from the Cabernet barrels adding a nice wood finish coupled with the fruit sour finish.

Aged with ucusty’s cell phone in part. Thanks for the taste, David. Huge body courtesy of bottle conditioning gone mad, with tons of head and an obviously prickly carbonation. Faintly pink color wasn’t what I was expecting, nor was the apricot and berry in the nose. Very clean, a bit thin, not overly complex, I found this one a bit perplexing and underwhelming.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2012 Thanks to ucusty for sharing. Nice one, Dave. Pours pinkish purple with big ass head. Over carbonated, for sure. This was preceded by Hannsen’s Experimental Cassis, so it was a tough act to follow and I think my perception of this beer suffered for it. Nice tart aroma with some funk/leather/earthy characteristic as well as some raspberry and blackberry notes. Finished a bit watery, but a very nice beer overall. RERATE: January 2012 bottle tastes goooood. Cheers, CanIHave4Beers!

Thanks to Chicagobeeriot for the bottle! Batch 2 bottle... Bit of a gusher. Pour is slightly purple with a giant fizzy white head. Definitely over carbonated. Tart leathery aroma. Thin to medium bodied. Blackberries, oak tannins, and light spice. Tart and refreshing, far from sour. Clean dry finish.
