Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in cabernet barrels with blackberries, Juliet is a tart, fruity, complex ale. Notes of wood, tannin, dark fruit and spice make Juliet an ideal beer to suggest to Pinot Noir enthusiasts and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian sour ales.

Tap at Blind Tiger Alehouse. Deep pink-red beer with a thin head. Aroma is awesome. Rich tart sourness, lots of ripe berryish fruit and a lovely soft lactic sourness along with a kiss of spiciness. A big shot of oaky flavour over the top. Softly tart with a good interplay of fruit, bright acidity and nice spiciness. Lingering tart finish. Really an incredible brew. Greatly balanced and well-integrated. Man, these guys are making killer stuff.

My birthday treat from Peensteen, and it did not disapoint. Great pink foamy look, great aromas of berries, cherry, raspberry. Large retained head. Well malted sour that enticed the palate. Tart, berry, great drinkability.

651mL. The pour is a heavily carbonated clear jewel pink/dark orange with a larger pink head with soda retention and acid cutting. Nose is big acetic acid/pickle with small raspberry seed, more pickle, sour raspberry juice. Taste at first is massive spritzy carbonation, lemon, mild paper, not too much acetic heat, tons of dough, and big tartaric acid like sour warheads. Mouthwatering...fairly intense.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2013 2009 bottle thanks to mar. GUSHER! Pours with a hazy amber red body and a white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with some berries. Taste is sour, acidic, a bit bitter and somewhat sweet as well from the indistinguishable berries. Lively bubbles. Better as it opened.
2013 bottle. Hazy pink. Funky and fruit wine barrel aroma. Flavors are vinous with mild jammy fruit and tannins. Lively carb. As I drink more the acetic character becomes a bit too overwhelming.

My Bottom Line :
This brazenly sour ale shares plenty of blackberry fruitiness which take on cranberry angles before splashing powerful citric notes onto the palate.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam tops the hazy, dull pinkish red.
-The soft carbonation makes the acidity feel even more prominent.
-Complexity isn’t as high as it usually is in this type of beer, but enjoyment levels compensate.
-Drinkability is low, but flavor levels are high, so it all works out quite well in the end. ;)

Bottle over X-mas break 2013. Poured effervescent dark straw with white head. Nose was white wine grapes, oaky, lactose. Tasted tart, with definite chardonnay overtones, some oaky tartness, and a fruity finish.

22oz bottle: pours a clear bright amber ruby with a small, stringy-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet fruity nose with some vinous oak and tartness. Starts with light effervescence and a touch of berries with lots of puckering tartness, acetic acid and cabernet notes. Finishes crisp and sweet-tart with good vinous complexity. True to style and enjoyable.

A Mes rate. Bottle at Borefts 10am day after hotel tasting.
An excellent red amber colour with a pinky off white head. An amazing Belgian style base beer with a stunning delicate sourness. Beautiful stuff, clean as hell and really downable. Something that reminds me a lot of Mr. Kipling’s Cherry Bakewell tarts. And that’s a good thing. Lovely dry finish with plenty of barrel showing but it sits just right. Excellent beer.

On tap at FoBAB. Poured hazy medium orange with a loose-bubbled cap of tan head. The aroma picked up tangy sour fruit skins (cherries primarily) as a primary character.. deeper fruity meat behind.. aged, slightly sour oak accents rounded it out nicely. The flavor was very sour throughout with cherries and oak leading.. fruity/berry base supported it well.. lots of vinous notes on the back along with very welcome rye spicage.. mighty tasty! Spicy and sour on the palate with very good balance.. I could drink a whole lot of this!

Bottle from panatanap that I brought to PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Possibly my favorite beer of the day. Pours a beautiful hazy ruby with a medium white head. Big bretty aromas with crisp light berries and wood. Light and barely sweet, dry and a touch funky. Finishes crisply and with a touch of vinegar. This was remarkably good.
