3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft, at the brewery. Did not overly impress me. The other homebrewers I was sampling with opined that as it's a seasonal, the keg at the "brewhouse" (employee breakroom) was old. Still, great head, nice earthy smell, taste is fine, certainly a vast improvement over any other so-called "Irish Red" in this country. Any Goose is worth seeking out.

2/3/16 Chicago (16 oz draft pour into nonic glass at Goose Island Clybourn Brewpub). Dark red pour, thin light tan lacing and head. Minimal aroma, light malt taste with hint of coffee and caramel. Thin watery texture, minimal carbonation, very easy going down. Overall good offering.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
A standard red ale, well-made, but just not anything to sit an marvel at when you are drinking it which can be nice sometimes.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Enjoyed on tap at GI Clybourn prior to doing some post-Christmas shopping around the area. Appearance clear amber red with thin white head that rims around the glass. Aroma mostly malty, toffee does come out a bit, slight yeast presence. Taste is nice and crisp with malty backing. Medium body, medium carbonation. Solid brew.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tasted from bottle into standard pint glass. Poured a clear reddish-brown color with chill haze and moderate off-white head. Aromas of bread, roasted barley and very faint hops. Pronounced malt-sweetness just barely balanced by hops bitterness and dryness of unmalted grain, some fruitiness from the ale fermentation. Light-body with a well-rounded mouthfeel. Well-crafted and easy to drink.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Kilgubbin is a bland red - big bodied and malty, but lacks a distinctive taste to set it apart from other widely distributed red ales. It was smooth and drinkable, but not interesting or flavorful enough for me to buy again.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
draft... can’t believe I’ve never had this, but never been on in my 20ish visits, wasn’t missing anything... bright and clear medium amber, not much of head... light caramel spice nose... the taste is lightly skunked and boring
