3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheAlum (3299) - Lisle, USA - APR 24, 2011
Sampled on tap at the GI Invasion Event at SmallBar Fullerton (Chicago, IL). On tap as "Wilder". Alias coming. Pours a nice hazy applesauce yellow, with a small frothy offwhite head laces small, dies to a small ring. Aromas are some applesauce fruit, big brett, horseblanket, hay, and wet leather. Touches of pears and oranges, some more apple, touches of citrusy lively melon and lemon, quite fruit. Initial Is light bodied and mellow smooth with a good slick feel, touches of apple, bretty dry funk, hay, grass, horseblanket, and touches of cheese. Light with a moderate funk to it, goes down too easy. Some lively lemon, melon, and light and easy going. Leaves a light dry horseblanket and funk on the palate, touches of gentle cheese, fruity melon. Finish is dry and fruity, some bread peeks through. Quite the winner for such a small beer (4.3 ABV). Gentle yet wild yeasts prevail, give it life and fruity melon, citrus, and apple that is a touch tart and sweet, honeycrisp. Very nice for a small wheat beer, on par with a Berliner, but more brett and less lacto. Good, but not all that complex and a very subtle beer.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 kbutler1 (1115) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 16, 2011
Draft. Served at Pracna on Main for the 2011 MN Craft Beer Week. Poured into a snifter a cloudy yellow color with zero head. Aroma of slight florals and apricot. Light mouthfeel with zero carbonation. Soft floral Brett flavors but then dominated by a mild wheat note. Really wish that had more carbonation to help it "pop" a little more.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pantanap (2838) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 11, 2011
Goose island wilder. Tap takeover at smallbar... Pours a hazy lemony
pale very light brown pour with a thin film of soapy white head...
Semi-tart with a mild degree of lacto-ness, softer lemony funk
qualities. Light in the sour tart aspect with a bit of grain on the
backend... Softer lemony tartness, earthy with some grains and a light
fry earthiness on the backend. Low to medium carbonation and light
bodied. Lacked a vibrant punch but nice sessionable ale right here.
