Awesome sour! Very funky but a little thin. Nice champagne mouth feel from the carbonation.

Bottle, to sooth my nerves ... I thought I’d had this before, and had no idea there were raspberries in it. Double bonus. Pours like a rusty champagne ... fizzy, without much body. This drinks with a tart, farmhousey quality ... did I mention tart? Oh, and it’s tart. I get the raspberries, now that I know they’re there. Probably adds up to the reddish hue, too. I’m a genius. Good strong beer, with a sweet and tart edge. (#5742, 9/16/2014)

Super fruity. Like very super fruity. Draft pour at DryHop. Red clear pour with barely any head. Dry plumb and prune aroma - smells isn't inductive of the taste. Taste is a tart raspberry and slight grape powerful monster. I like it. Very tart and sour finish.

"Wish lister: Had after a relatively fresh peach sour. This was a little more understated, but he raspberry and the Belgian golden base really came through nicely in the nose. I’d go 9.5 there. It had a great upside, but perhaps two years old was a little much. It poured a little flat though I love the odd pinkish color. The feel was thicker yet somehow prickly though there were little to no bubbles. Flavor was a little more sweet raspberry than sour, but plenty of both with some light yeast and other fruit coming through as well. I the end, it had more upside than the other great sour, but more faults. Ends up about even."

Lo-li-ta. Humbert Humbert approves. Tap at Belmont.
A: Pure red color with very little head. Lacing.
N: Deep waft of raspberry, grape, grapefruit and lemon. Crystallized sugar and floorboards.
T: Muddled mix of sweetness and tartness. Not particularly sour.
M: Prickly carbonation. Washes over the mouth. Lighter body. Some alcohol presence.
O: Not very good, especially given how far American Wild style has come. Wants to be fruity or complex; doesn’t get to either.

Color is perfect, very little smell or head. Perfect sour front with a nice easy not overwhelming finish. Great for a cool rainy evening in a comfy chair near a fire.

On tap at Brouwer’s for Migration Week. Candy red pour, like a cider. Big punch of raspberries on the nose. Flavor follows suit, with a slightly phenolic after. Not too shabby, but it could use some work. One-dimensional.

Bomber into tulip glass, cloudy rusty amber color with minimal off-white head. Aroma of tart raspberry jam, sour funk, vinous and faint musty wood. Taste adds notes of hay, grain, grapes, balsamic vinegar, vanilla, oak, faint spices and very light earthy hops. Light body, moderate-low carbonation, dry with some lingering tart funk on the finish. Very good complex sour wild ale, prefect for my 800th rating!

Bottle thanks to myknewcraft, thanks a lot Joey! Pours a clear orange with red highlights, no head hence no lacing. Nose is really fruity with raspberries sticking out but there is also some unfortunate (but light) nail polish that I cannot appreciate. There is also some light vinegar but that I can live with and even enjoy. Taste is nicely tart and lactic, or at least the acetic is under control and it is really pleasing. Flavors are of a nice red wine and raspberries, really fruit forward. Mouthfeel is vinous and the acidity is never too much, really fun to drink. There is some alcohol to be felt but it isn’t necessarily bad. Body is medium, carbonation as well. Overall this was really nice, the raspberries felt real and the acidity really well dosed.
