Lolita is a pink rose colored Belgian style pale ale fermented with wild yeast and aged on raspberries in wine barrels. Aromas of fresh raspberries, bright jammy fruit flavors and crisp, refreshing body make Lolita ideal for beer drinkers fond of Belgian Framboise.

Sampled at 10/13/2012 at GABF. This sour/wild ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, sweet, tart and raspberry. A medium to lighter bodied wild/sour ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice fresh tart raspberry flavors. A touch of wood. Nice carbonation. Very nice beer. Like the fruit, tart and malt interaction. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly tart.

Where the Wild Beers Are, 2012. A red beer, lightly carbonated. Berry aroma and more beery in the flavor with some balsamic and sour yeast. Full flavored with both the fruit and the the sourness, very good.

Had on tap at Acre for lunch during Chicago Craft Beer Week. Served in an unbranded tulip glass. A: Pours a bright cherry red color with some dark orange hues mixed in around the edges when it catches the light. A frothy white heads forms on the pour and leaves some whispy lace behind is recedes to a thin collar for the remainder of the glass. S: Some tart raspberry with a sweet earthy berry and light cab barrel coming up at the back end. Mild oak, but the tart raspberries are the main attraction in the nose. T: The tart raspberry is up front and it’s followed by a mild sour puckering in the jowls akin to biting into an unripe raspberry. The barrel plays nicely with a hearty oak character and light toffee sweetness. The cab flavors finish out the taste with an earthy cherry pit and smooth, vinous berry skin flavor. M: Medium bodied. A little heavier than expected with a wild ale, but it had a nice zesty carbonation (possibly from being on tap?) that made it enjoyable. O: A very solid beer, although I’d like to see it a touch lighter in the body and the nose wasn’t near as complex as the taste. Would like to have again. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 05-26-2012

On tap at Euclid Hall. Pour is clear crimson with a huge off-white head and decent lacing. Wood, tannin, cherry pit, raspberries, light herbal characteristics, and nail polish in the aroma. Taste is sweet raspberries and tannin upfront, leading to a well-balanced middle with notes of wood and blackberries, ending with a lingering sour fruit finish. Light body with soft carbonation. Pretty nice sour, but I definitely prefer its sister, Juliet.

Quality sour. Pours bright red with little to no head, moderate carbonation. It’s tart and sour raspberry, with a puckering finish that’s very dry. Funky yet drinkable fruit sour.
