Lolita is a pink rose colored Belgian style pale ale fermented with wild yeast and aged on raspberries in wine barrels. Aromas of fresh raspberries, bright jammy fruit flavors and crisp, refreshing body make Lolita ideal for beer drinkers fond of Belgian Framboise.

Poured into wide champagne flute. Slightly hazy peachy amber color with tons of bubbly whitish pink head that faded immediately. Some bubbles cling to the side of the glass within the beer. Aroma is of sweet raspberry and dry woody wine. Taste is exactly the same as the aroma. Quite sweet. Decent, but nothing outstanding about this beer. High carbonation makes this fun to drink. I enjoy the bubbly feeling. Body is light, borderline thin.

From Bottle @ Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016. Reddish Amber color. Raspberries in the vinous aroma and flavor. Candy. Sour and complex. Too matured to be called Lolita, this beer.

Sampled from bottle in front of ’De Bierkoning’ during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016. Clear, reddish amber, no head. Sourish-fruity aroma of vinegar, wood and sherry. Very sour, slightly fruity taste of vinegar, wood and sherry, followed by a medium long, rather tart finish. Medium body, very astringent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Nice!

Strong sour with raspberries, at Bierkoning during Carnivale Brettanomyces, poured by Goose Island’s own ’innovation brewer’ (cheers Tim!). Moussy, off-pinkish head over a deep copper-hued amber beer with vivid sparkling. Rich and enticing aroma of raspberry pie, raspberry vinegar and sweet fresh red raspberry, sourdough, orange peel, lemon rind, damp earth, wet wood, vanilla, yoghurt, ’horseblanket’. Softly sour onset, very emphatically fruity, sweet raspberry embedded in a general fruit tartness, estery, green plum-like, medium carbo, mellow mouthfeel, bready malt base with a pleasantly rounded feel, fruitiness lingering for a long time both in the actual raspberry sense and in the estery sense, vanilla-like wood tannins retronasally, soft sourishness drying the finish along with a glow of warming alcohol. I’ve tasted many attempts at lambic-like fruit beers from outside of Belgium but somehow most of them seem to lack a bit in complexity - this, however, is a beauty of international class.

Bottle, in front of the Bierkoning at Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016, with Bierkoning, Travlr, Zlotta, Kermis, Maakun, TheJvd, ShivanDragon and more. Orange/pinkish color. Light pinkish head. Aroma’s: sour, raspberry, fruity. retronasal it’s raspberry, funky, fruity, sweet. Flavor is moderate sweet, moderate sour, funky. Medium bodied. Finish is sourish, slightly dry. I wonder whether this would be even better without brett...

on tap at Dobra Zupas in Beckley, WV; pinkish-red color with a nice white head; great, sour raspberry aroma; fantastic raspberry flavor with wine notes and lots of oak; really dry, oaky finish with more red wine notes

Bottle, 2013 from rotbox. Lightly hazy pink red rose. Berry seeds, light floral note, sour berries and light vinegar and vinous qualities in the aroma. Flavor is sour and very tart, but well balanced, vinous, woody, and dry but with a real berry finish. Lighter body with decent carbonation given the age and how shitty I must’ve treated this bottle.

Some raspberry and citrus and some sour plum. Clear reddish amber pour without much head or lacing. Tangy finish. Good package. Fruity. Bottle pour at Churchkey.
