3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured into wide champagne flute. Slightly hazy peachy amber color with tons of bubbly whitish pink head that faded immediately. Some bubbles cling to the side of the glass within the beer. Aroma is of sweet raspberry and dry woody wine. Taste is exactly the same as the aroma. Quite sweet. Decent, but nothing outstanding about this beer. High carbonation makes this fun to drink. I enjoy the bubbly feeling. Body is light, borderline thin.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12/10/13 notes: Bottle, shared with Eric. Pours bold pink with a nice sized white head. Aroma has clean citrus, swirling crushed raspberry, a champagne mustiness, bit of apple cider vinegar; clean, acidic, taut. Flavor is much more mellow, blending softly sweet berries with a quick bite of citrus tartness and lacto. A subtle, balanced, quite enjoyable drinks that brings to mind a dry fruit cider, or maybe a champagne cherry spritzer (is that a thing?).

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Reddish amber color and smells very tart. Raspberries really come through and extremely balanced. Just the right amount of sweet, tart, sour and funk. Expensive but a must try at least once.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
[Bottle / 2011 / 2 years old] Thanks, Mike! Dense copper & ruby red tinted body with a bit of haze to it; fizzy, white head on top that’s pretty active & doesn’t hang around for very long. Aroma packed with tart raspberry & sharp, sour cherry notes... Vinous notes akin to red wine grape skins, wet wood, & a slightly tannic back-end. A bit of yeast & some musty funk are apparent, definite signs of the Brett involved. The taste is also crowded with tons of ripe, fresh, tart raspberries, nearly puckering with an underlying essence of other fruits; cherry, grape, & even strawberry. Big-time barrel presence in the latter half; oak, faint vanilla, dry red wine. A little cheesy, musty, wet barnyard funk closes things out, leading into a scraping dry, tannic & fruity finish. Lovely sour, probably my favorite from the Goose Island line-up.
[Tap / 2013 / Fresh] I loved this beer aged but may like it even more when it’s fresh. Lovely tartness, balanced well by a light, vinous boozy character throughout. Warming vanillin & tannin from the barrel with a slightly acidic & mellow lactic finish. Dry as ever with more well integrated funk... Very balanced, drinking WAY too easy for nearly 9% ABV. Confirmed the notion that this is my favorite Goose Island sour.

’13 bottle pour semi-clear ruby red with small thin head which fades inmediately. Nose is tart rasberry, jam, oak, slightly acidic, funk, a touch of acetone as it warms, also a little boozy. Taste is tart woody berry and oak, funk, some sweet cherry notes, strawberry, barrel. Finish is tart with occasional semi-sweet berry, red grape, acidic funk, dusty wood. Good, not great.

Bottle (750ml): very light haze, copper to red, poor head and no lace. Spice, earth, red fruit, poached citrus, caramel, glazed fruit. Dry, sour, more than moderately bitter. Medium weight and very long. Cumquat, sour berries and citrus. Massive flavor.
Love the complexity, layers and profile. Funky and fresh. Quenching.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Lovely deep pink hue with a finely bubbled light pink head. Aroma is very fresh, red fruits, lightly sour. Flavours of tart cherry and unripened raspberry, with moderate sourness leading to a tart, quenching finish. Fresh and zesty, no real funkiness, but in a way, this beer is better for it. Clean and refreshing.

Draft pours ruby red with pink head. Raspberries, barnyard, horse blanket, lemon. Pretty tart and sweet. Crisp, medium body. A little bit too sweet. I imagine this would age well, though.
