Pours clear copper with a fast fading white fizz. Smells tart and fruity. Taste is tart, fruity, sweet, acidic, slightly woody. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and sharp mouth-carbonation, Goose Island Lolita finishes with a lingering sourness.

From notes. Enjoyed at Dougís house for the Epic Peach and Apricot debacle of a tasting that happened on July 9. 750 mL bottle. Iím not going to lie, I have no idea how in the hell this showed up. The pour is a bright reddish orange color with a small, egg shell colored head that fades away quickly. The aroma is very raspberry forward. There is a lot more sweetness here than I would consider tartness. There is a lot of yeast as well. The flavor is sweet raspberry and a tartness to it that doesnít do well to cover up the yeast. The mouth feel is more of a syrupy medium body with a bright-ish carbonation and a lingeringly tart raspberry and a lot of dry vinegar. This one isnít that good at all. Fuck.

At the epic peach/apricot sour tasting. Aroma is raspberries, yeast, slight tart, fruity. Appearance is red orange, white head, somewhat hazy. Taste is sweet raspberries, tart, funk, slight sour, yeast, dry. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, raspberry vinegar dry aftertaste. Overall, more sour than expected but just ok.

Pouring a rosy amber with very little foam, Lolita from Goose Island is an olfactory delight straight from the crack of the cap. A light aroma white grapes and raspberry is punctuated with light yeasts; funky but not overpowering in the slightest. - a first sip is sour, with a sweet, berry-filled accent as I inhale. The carbonation tingles at the tip of my tongue, powering a tart experience, and as the beer fills my mouth it drives the fruits and grassy, funky flavor to permeate my tastebuds. Certainly mouth-watering, the vinous brew is a study in complexity, combining the beauty of light wines, fresh fruits, and yeast. -
The finish is quite dry, without the intensity of a desert. Just a clean, fruity back end, leaving little of the yeast to tear apart the next berry-laden quaff. -
My bottle, labeled 2013, is delicious. The cost to try it again does not scare me. This is a brew I will want to share with friends...expense be damned.

Picked up a growler is this bad girl for $15. Ridiculous. Now itís not my favorite sour of all time but it is very deep and complex. Amongst all the overt sourness lies this hint of over steeped black tea. Thereís a big fruity hit to it also, peach and cherry. Vanilla too, plays a large part in it. This is good quality, well judged sour making.

From Bottle @ Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016. Reddish Amber color. Raspberries in the vinous aroma and flavor. Candy. Sour and complex. Too matured to be called Lolita, this beer.
