22 oz. bomber. Poured a brown color. Very nice beer. Tastes like a great sour brown with cherries. The cherries come through very nicely.

Bottle served at the brewpub. Really looking forward to this one and it didn’t disappoint. Aroma full of sour funk, cherries and slight oak. Flavor was tart and sour, just how it should be. Good balance between flavors as well. Would try again for sure.

Huge thanks to dcschiller for hooking it up! Bottle pours burnt copper with a white head. Aroma shows notes of caramel, vanilla, raspberry vinegarette, tart cherries, and oak. Flavor shows the same with a hint of brown sugar/cinnamon as well as a touch of funk. Extremely well balanced.

Review 1100! 22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled 10/1/2010. Pours fairly crystal clear red-copper color with a nice 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with nice retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of huge cherry, oak, red grape, red wine vinegar, pepper, earth, wet hay, funk, clove, and yeast spiciness. Fantastic aromas with great strength, balance, and complexity. Taste of tart cherry, red grape, oak, hay, pepper, earth, clove, light vinegar, pear, funk, and light yeast spiciness. Good amount of fruity sourness on the finish; with lingering notes of cherry, grape, hay, earth, clove, light vinegar, pear, apple, and light pepper on the finish for a good bit. Incredible balance and complexity of flavors; with a great sourness/sweetness balance; zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly acidic, syrupy, and very crisp mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic Belgian style wild ale! Huge complexity and balance of sweetness/sourness; very smooth and crisp to sip on even with some acidity. Highly enjoyable offering after 2 years of bottle aging. I will definitely consider getting more to cellar.

a fantastic beer saved to celebrate the birth of my baby girl. Tart cherries abound. Lacking the harsh acidity that some sour brown ales can give off. Extremely drinkable, worth searching out.

Sampled at HF bottle share. I loved this beer. Great sour cherry flavor with light subtle funk that I love. The oak is nicely balanced to provide a woody vanilla undertone that plays off the sour nicely. Really top notch.

From a bottle poured into globe glass. I’m not a sour beer lover, but this one was drinkable for me - still hurts my teeth though... Very nice sour cherry flavor, not unlike a typical Belgian Lambic only a little more sour. No "expired orange juice" sour flavor present. Although probably won’t drink again because it’s unbelievably expensive - about $14 / pint bottle.

bottle share at hill farmstead, goose island crushes another one out of the park .Those lightly tart notes and a side flavor to the intense cherry and oak characteristics/

Tart cherry start with a merlot/cab finish. Wine barrel aging shows through on the nose. Doesn’t become too much after first few tastings which is unusual for the style. Tasty but a bit expensive. Prefer Belgian Red from New Glarus.
