Tasted 4/30/08. Sample from the Clybourne brewpub. Hazy with a dull golden reddish hue. Minimal head. Grainy sugary aromas. Light to medium bodied. Smooth yet bitter. Mild effervescence. Slightly tart and nutty. Mild lingering hop note. Mildly grassy. Meh...

Ughsmash (6723) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - APR 29, 2006
On tap at Clybourn (as Myebock... 26% rye malt used, 6.8% alcohol). Poured a medium caramel/amber with a short off-white head... some lacing at the top. Toasted caramel, nuttiness, earth, grains, and spices in the nose... quite complex malt profile. Strong caramel and toffee base to the flavor, with spicy rye, light earthy & floral bitters at the edges, and some alcohol highlights at the back. Medium fruits showed up as this warmed. Medium carbonation and body. Not exceptionally smooth across the palate.. with rather brash alcohol highlights. A tad rough around the edges, but respectable overall.

clyborn. not as good as it looks. kinda lacking in personaltiy, but i suppose that would be good with dinner as the description suggests. not a big fan.

scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAY 23, 2005
Tap @ Clybourn - Deep orange, thick off white head. Nose was nice with tones of peppery hops, sweet fuzzy fruit, bread and light toffee. The flavor was one in the same with just a bit of alcohol shining thru as well. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, Sahara dry, fuzzy fruit finish. Well...guess I’m the minority here, but I really dug it!

Deep brown with red tint. Not too strong malt or hop presence. Really smooth and enjoyable with medium body. Good for drinking with dinner.

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2005 At Clybourn: A so-so bock. Iyt pours a clear amber color with lazy carbonation and a respectable, white head. The aroma is sweet malt with a handful of herbal hop bitterness... just a bit too much for the style. Not a bad taste to this medium bodied beer - caramel malt and herbal bitterness. Okay, just not very exciting.

Draught, Clybourn brew-pub (2004 version): clear amber, and a thin white head (that, as usual, can only be blamed on the bar tender . . .) Thick aroma is filled with fresh hops and a slightly sour malt character. Crisp and wonderfully smooth on the palate, incredibly drinkable. After-taste is a bit winey, but overall I liked the flavours: fresh lager hops with the malt profile of a bock.

Light amber with a tinge of red, almost clear. Has a minimal head and a malty aroma. Starts out smooth, and i could taste a bit of banana with a slightly acidic/bitter taste on the tongue from the hops at the finish.

This brew poured a medium head of off-white small to large sized bubbles that left a fair lacing and atransparent uncarbonated light brown colored body behind. It has a fruity apple malt aroma and a fruity apple malt bitter flavor to boot. Its mouthfeel is smooth initially then finishes bitter.
