3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
10 oz chalice from draft at Jimmy’s Urban Bar. Pours hazy copper with a ring of a white head. The aroma is funky and wild with notes of barnyard up front. I also get hints of dark cherry, champagne-like vinous notes and goat cheese. Body is medium full and bubbly. Great mix of funk and wild fruits in the flavor. Very dry for finish. Super tasty and well done. I wouldn’t say this is incredibly sour, but pleasantly funky and tart.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft. Aroma is slightly sour with some sweetness. Appearance is a rose colored bronze with no head and hazy. Taste is a citrus effervescent that turns a slight sour. Not overwhelming by any means. Palate is very slight and good for a sour. Overall, a great twist on a good beer. Would buy again fo sho.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft...at mi casa. Pours out a somewhat cloudy amber color with a moderate white head. Aroma is of fruity/funky/lightly tart yeast, mild spices, toasted grains and a touch of citrus. Taste is much the same, spice, light fruit, some tart/lightly funky yeasty notes, a mild bitterness. Solid, rather easy drinking, but I like my sours more....well sour.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at top Hops - NYC. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. The nose has ripening apples, light sweat, some ripe citrus. Medium sweet flavor with ripe fruits, berries, light diaper and poo funk, light salt and candied apples. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mild tangy berries to finish, some toffee, stewed apples, doughy bread, ripe tangerine. Tasty enough but the brett presence is quite mild.

Drank this one on draft, light sour flavor with tartness. The brettanomyces is apparent. Definitely not the same beer as regular Matilda, good if you like the brett flavor and a bit of sourness. Pretty good, couldn’t drink too many.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at PreFunk tonight... Pours a hazy orange with a pretty flimsy white cap and no real lacing.
Nose is a bit funky, but with a bigger lean toward fruity esters... a bit of something that I associate with white peppercorns.
Flavor and aromas mirror each other... the brett shows as a sorta dank/dusty cellar essence.. damp hay... peachy esters play with the limited residual sugars and linger for the finish.
Body and carbonation are fine.... Okay brew... Seems sorta pedestrian given the pedigree... Though, there is nothing wrong with that in the grand scheme.

On tap in a tulip. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of light Brett notes, hints of fruits and citrus, pale malts, and light earthy/funky notes. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average texture. Pretty good but nothing too crazy.

On tap at PreFunk. Murky copper colored brew, small oily head. Straight up sour. Light bodied with puckering sour bite. Dry finish leaves you licking your gums, light citrus notes. Well done!
