Keg @ CK. hazy deep gold with a small head. Woody, dry Brett nose. Some manure. The taste is abut muted. Honeyed pear. More dry, buggy wood. Fruit leather. Light body, could use some Carbonation. OK.

On tap at the Mayor of Oldtown. Appearance: small white head, amber yellow, light cloudy, good lacing. Aroma: medical smells, light raspberry, sweetness of other fruit. Palate: light body, soft carbonation, dry finish, lingering medical taste. Taste: sweet to light tartness, medical. Overall, I could not get over the medical taste personally, very overpowering and distracting. Disappointed.

Pours clear golden with an eggshell head that leaves a wall of intricate lacing. Nose involves some bretty earthy funk, some spice, light clove, and some sour apple. Lightly sweet, fairly bitter, a touch tart. Medium bodied, oily, earthy, fairly active, with a dry earthy finish. Nice brew, interesting twist on Matilda. Basically, it’s just a canvas for the brett, but it works nicely.

On tap at Doherty’s Ale House Warwick. Hazy deep golden color. Funk, citrus, and earth with hints of tartness. Decent brew, nothing to write home about.

On draft at Stanley’s Farmhouse Pizza. Delightful brett character. Dry, funky, much improved over standard Matilda.

Draft. Lemony smell. Doesn’t depart too much from the original. Some extra earth.

2/28/14. On tap at Holy Grale in Louisville. Light copper pour with a nice khaki head that sticks and coats the glass pretty well. Mild Brett aroma, funky, more that lambic funkiness, lightly tart, not too fruity, a surprising amount of caramel and darker aspects coming out. Nice flavor, funky, plenty of Brett, a surprising amount of sourness, less prevalent sweet maltiness in the flavor. Based on other ratings, I’m thinking I hit a lucky keg on this bad boy. Yum.

Pour that looks just like apple cider, lots of lacing. Scents of mealy apple and pear and earthiness, perhaps some wet dog, some sour stuff once it warmed. Very light watery flavor with a very full bodied mouthfeel. Some piney and floral hops and bitter ryeish yeasts. Very mild, not wild so much, did not at all meet my expectations.

Draft at Sergio’s, served in a stemmed Leffe glass. Pours a semi-cloudy, mostly clear orange with a small off-white head that leaves some spots in the glass. Aroma of peach, apricot, grapes, oak, sweet malts, and some funk. Flavor of oak, earth, pale and sweet malts, grass, florals, and a ton of wine grapes. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, vinous, oaky mouthfeel. Low to moderate carbonation. No sourness, really. And I wouldn’t have guessed this was a version of Matilda because it’s so different. I prefer the regular version.
